I am not a picky eater at all! Well on some things I am but most things I am not. But my husband on the other hand is, I will say why, when I make home made french fries I usually just cut them and fry them but him he wants me to peel the skin off well it does not bother me because in some restraunts they come like that and he will eat them and I really don't see the difference. Same with mashed potatoes. I used to just cut them and boil them but he is very picky about leaving the skin on any kind of potatoes! Are you that way or does it even bother you at all?

People are created different. what is your way of life is not another person way of like. what you eat and the way you eat it may not be exactly the same way others does it.

I will eat them either way. If the potatoes are fresh and the skin is good i will leave it on. Thats where all the nutrients are. But if its older the skin is more ruff so then i will peel it.

I love potatoes. At sams club you can get a 10lb bag for a couple of dollars. She always remarks about how long it would take her family of 5 to eat those. Not me they are gone in about 2 weeks.

It used to bother me but it doesn't anymore. I actually kind of like the skin on them and they are healthier, plus those fries that come with the skin on them tend to be a bit more fluffier and so absorbs the oils better I feel. I don't know, somehow they just seem healthier.

The peel indeed is healthy, but want it or not, modern ways of planting and growing lets the potato skin full of pesticides, which end up in your food. You are a bit safer if you remove skins, but of course you cannot know if you are completely safe still.

Hi ja hernandez rivas: I don't complain too much about the food in my house, probably because my mom is the best cooker. She is like a chef and she always makes special food for us. And well I was educated to love mashed potatoes. For me they are more delicious that way so in my case4 I won't accept them in another way. But hey, it will just take you like ten minutes maximum and they will be better in my opinion. ALVARO

Actually, I enjoy eating the skin of the potato. It adds texture to it. Tell your hubby to try it. Anyway, the skin may have it's own nutritional value. Tell him it's fiber and it'll be good for him as well.hihihii...

I am a picky eater and defiantly good at judging food. It would be cool to be a food critic for a job. Right now I would just be happy with some kind of job/source of income though.

You should always peel the potatoes, because the skin keeps all the toxic substances used on them while they're growing. Don't let yourself get full of fertilisers and toxicity...better stay on the safe side.

I always peel the potatoes to fry them. There are very inexpensive peelers that make the job vey easy. As for mashed potatoes, I peel them and cook them later. But if I want to make potato salad, I cook them with their skins and peel thm after they are cooked. The potato skins have something toxic that is not tolerated by everyone. Check that.

Well, I am not picky of what I will eat though, except those wild animals, or their organs. About vegetable, anything that is edible, and clean, I won't mind how my mom going to make it. As long as it is delicious, not poisonous, I would put in my mouth and enjoy it.

The skin does not bother me but anytime my mom cooked potatoes, she always peeled off all the skin (we know now that the skin holds the nutrients). I also added you as a friend to discuss something else.

I prefer to eat my potatoes without the skin too. My husband on the other hand will eat the skin peels right out of the sink while I'm slicing the potato. I'm not sure why you people like the taste of potato skins. I think they taste like dirt. Doesn't matter how much I wash them. Just think after you eat the skins you could grow eyes in your stomach. Now if that isn't creepy I don't know what is. Best Wishes!

I'm not as picky as either my mom or my sister. It doesn't bother me that both of them are that way but I'm not sure who's more pickier. For the longest time, my sister never even touched fish until she had tilapia. I love all types of meat and eat many types of fish but it's because of my beliefs that I don't eat shellfish or pork. My mom didn't bring us up Jewish but we do keep some of their holidays. My cousin said that reformed Jews are the ones that practice close what we practice. As far as mashed potatoes goes, I love them with or without the skin, lumpy or not lumpy just as long as they're good and if they're creamy they taste better. :) I also am a big fan of homemade fries, frozen fries and fast food fries. If you make them homemade and add seasoning on them, they taste like Boardwalk Fries depending on how you season them. I love food but do have my preferences.

I actually prefer the skins on, as long as they are cleaned well first. My grandma never peeled her potatoes which was great, but as she got older, bless her heart, her cleaning became a little more sporadic. Biting into mashed potatoes with grit in them was not a great experience. Twenty years on...I'd give anything to have my grandma's mashed potatoes just one more time, grit and all.

I am not very picky, but I do have preferences, of course. I don't cook any thing by myself. I am not good at cooking , for that matter. I have to go to restaurants. I like potatoes, and my preference is mashed potatoes, and the waiters/waitresses know that well.

I am so tired of cooking!!! I lost my job and have been at home for 2 weeks and every day I have cooked!! Including weekends!!! God I need a break!!!!! I am so sick of it I would rather count some change and go get a 69cent or 99 cent burrito!!!! And that is not even 5 minutes away!!!! L.O.L. But my husband took all the change this morning!! L.O.L. But he did need it for gas.

Hi I am like your hubby where I need all the skin off my potatoes. I don't like skins on anything really, you would hate to see me eating grapes and or oranges. I am terrible and will pick off the outer skins and well, get tired of doing so, therefore, rather forgo eating them. lol I am bad aren't I? lol

I love potatoes with the skins on them but I notice that so many people do not. Tater skins are good for digestion. I was picky long ago, now I have learned to appreciate any food someone cooks for me out of love for me. I will eat just about anything, (within reason of course lol). The only thing I cannot stomach is spinach. But thats a psychological thing.

Fries and mashed potatoes are one of my favorites and my family as well. We love fries even with the skin on but with mashed potatoes, I usually peel it off. Potatoes are really versatile also, you can put it anywhere and use it with almost of all the dishes you want.

I know that some restaurants serve the french fries with the peel and it taste very good. But, when I make french fries at home, I always take off the peel, because I think they taste better this way. Mashed potatoes I never tried to make with the peel, but one time I saw Jamie Oliver making a mashed potato and he said that it stay very good with peel. I think I'm just used to take off the peel of the potatoes before I put them on the steamer.

I love potatoes! Yes, we do peel it here before cooking. I think thats the way it should be. Even when we mix it in our pork stew, we still do peel it. I guess you just have to obey what your husband told you so there will be no much issues regarding that. :)
