My cousin have a 4 Mongrel dogs or Aspin as they call it nowadays, though they are very friendly and one of them is a pervert one, [who always licks and smells girl's butt] are so dirty. If you play with them your hands would turn into gray color. I wanted to bathe them but the problem is that whenever I show them the leash they immediately run and hide under a car or some holes in the compound. And if you're lucky to insert a leash on them, they would become very aggressive and doesn't want to take a bath. All four dogs are afraid of water and two of them now has a skin disease, like a skin rash and hairs do fall off. What can we do about it?

Well our dogs used to be like that. But it would have been easier if they were puppies. You see liking water s just a matter of getting used to. So I suggest if you can't bathe them at home try bringing them to a beach early in the morning so there are lesser people and literally throw them there. They can swim don't worry. This will give them an instant rinse at the same time, the salt content in the beach will help dry the skin allergy wounds and kill bacteria.

Haha! My other cousin who leaves in our province do that since their house is near the sea, so he pull his dog in the shoreline to take a bath.

Yeah it's kinda neat. hahah.. And the dogs won't have time to be aggressive since he will be busy swimming. but be careful of the claws. It can scratch you.

Wow flapiz, is the sea-throwing really working for dogs like that? I think seawater is also good for dogs with skin problems though. @ Nytrisco: Try coconut milk bathing to your cousin's dogs. We try that most of the time whenever our dogs are having skin and hair problems like lice, thinning hair,etc...and trust me it works!

If they don't like take a bath, don't force them to do so, otherwise they will defy it. Maybe you can entice them to familiar to warter first, use foods or toys they like, then let them follow with you coming into the bathroom. If it doesn't work, would you like to take them to the pet shop to have bath? Skin rash is not good for them, you must buy some salve, and put the salve onto the skin with rash. Or take them to hospital, to make sure which kind of germ your pets have, and they will give you the salve to make them health.:)

My cousin is too embarrass if he will take them to the pet shop to have a bath since all of them is a mix breed [mongrel], and that is the saddest part. And they really hate water, in fact whenever they hear a flowing water they hide or run until they don't hear the sound anymore.

Oh, why he is embarrass? Breed is not a problem, all dogs are lovely. It's not necessaru to mind if your dogs are mongrel. I have two dogs, both of them are a mix breed, but when I take them out for a walk, many people say they are smart, lovely. Breed is not a matter. You can give the best thing they like after they do something you want them to do. They will like to do the thing step by step!

One problem here in my country is that older people has this mentality that you don't need to buy any medicine or take your pet to a doctor, they are just animals, they know how to take care of them. I could still hear those reasoning especially to close-minded people. And some of those people are my dad, stepmom and her relatives that I really hate.
