Hello everyone! Have any here tried to learn a new language recently? Well, recently I am trying to learn Hiragana and katakana. This are Japanese characters. I downloaded this tutorial which teaches the basic characters like A, e,i,o,u,ka,ke..etc. Now, i can recognize some characters when I see them on mangas or animes. But I can't still understand japanese though. When Im finished mastering the characters I will move on to another level. What about you fellow myLotters?

Good for you BH! I haven't tried learning other languages. I haven't even mastered how to speak in Thai and I've lived here for years! But, I do know the survival words so I think I'm doing fine.hihihihi Good luck with your new quest! I hope you do well!

I have no time to mylot in recent weeks and all the more i won't have the luxury of time to learn a new language. I would love to learn french because it's a nice language. Russian is fine for as well, even though it's a little bit stronger compared to other languages. I'm not interested in asian lanaguages, it's too common when everybody knows about it.

I've been wanting to learn how to speak Spanish. My mother's side is all Puerto Rican and I'm hoping to marry the sweetest, cutest Mexican man, so I'd like to know, just because of culture. I haven't really had much of a hard time getting along without it, but it would be a good extra thing to have. I'm glad that it doesn't involve learning an entire new alphabet. I think learning Japanese would be very, very difficult, especially if you have nobody who you could talk to and practice.

It's not too late to start learning. You can start anytime with Spanish lessons. Actually I'm relying on Anime and subs in practicing my Japanese. It's a good thing the internet has given me abundant source of anime movies and series as practice material.

Im also learning japanese but its hard especially if you dont have someone you could talk to in that language. Since childhood ive been interested in learning their culture, language, and alphabet cause I have japanese blood in me (even though its just a quarter).I can understand words when someone is speaking but if its me trying to speak japanese i just cant talk in seem to know how to combine words and make in to sentence. I fond this site that may help you in japanese. http://www.japancast.net/ Its a good site. Happy Mylotting :)
