Just turn off Notifications if they're too much..

Too much making discussions that is... Would you believe that, I still have a person or group of mylotters in my friends list who keeps, selfishly and senselessly makes tons and tons and more tons of discussions with out STOP. In my past experience, I've deleted a few people from my list if the Mylotter is a "RESPONSE COLLECTOR". But in this regard, since I dont' want to run out of options in responding to their many, many and many more topics, I just decided to just "turn off" their notification. It's really tiring when it comes to deleting mails from mylot every week. except to those who makes less than five or six topics that, or if they discussions is interesting to me. So, that's what I did. some people never learn. But at least the important thing is that I comment on my response, right? even if it's late. People are different in this site, you can't expect them to do the same. Comment you later.

Hi Letran I don't create many discussions and hope that when I do you at least take a look at the few I have done. Yes it is a preference and can be overwhelming. I have all of mine on and have created a filtered folder so they do not mix in with regular emails. I do like to read and or responds to friends so I find it handy to have mine on. Yes if their are way too many and you do not want to get the ones from the repeater then I suppose it is a wise thing to do for you.

Hello Hardworkinggurl, It is overwhelming isn't it? yes. I wonder if I can separate the mylot discussions with my usual emails. I can understand that you don't create many discussions and prefers responding to a lot of discussions. Maybe today I might try to respond to as many discussions as I could. but I know am not that good any more. have a nice day.

I don't know why some of our friends are not learning around about the trend and right way of posting discussion. I don't know their own purpose and what they want to prove..

Hello visavis, I didn't think she was a friend of mine since She never even bother responds to my discussions? not that I don't respond it's just I tend to be more picky now a days. there are topics in which my "brain" won't function and it takes a while to process

It seems you have in your mind an specific person you know here doing such thing, but be cool. I do hope she will saw this discussion and open her eyes on what we are trying to convey.

I have friends who post a lot - about ten or so on one day and some of the discussions I am not interested in or cannot answer. Also some of the discussions are such that one wonders how they survived so long by having no sense at all. I do keep the ones that will only post about two to four a day since I believe it gives me more time to comment on the others that I get on the Friends or the other pages and start my own discussion. I do wish that the friend's list on mylot was alphabetical or able to be arranged that way because there are some friends that I would like to have notify on but it takes too long to find them. I sometimes think that the ones who start a lot of discussions each day are here for the money or give others the impression they are.

Hello suspensful, I don't mind them having more discussions in the friends started but not to be traced in my email which is too much. well, I will try to respond to others discussion at least "one" of their topics that is. though I am thankful to those who keeps responding in to mine. with regards to your last sentence, I don't really know if it's for money or being a lotter anymore, can it be just for both? Have a NICE day

It could be for both, but with some of the discussions started, I wonder if that person thinks "Why do I write this and make people think I am so stupid? Being someone who does not want anyone to regard herself as a blooming idiot, I always make sure that I think before I write. I also think some people do not know when to stop in that, they feel if they can keep writing, they will turn the other person to their way of thinking and that is wrong.

hello knight! how are you? feeling stressed out already? i thought you are an expert in here? what you are experiencing is almost normal for us in here. meaning we always receive notifications unless we turn them off and never see they have started discussions. well, it's true that there are people in here who just collects responses and never even a single comment they do. it just irritates sometimes when you see them do that. say, if you have a discussion to start, then do your responsibility to comment back for people to know you are appreciating their efforts at least, right? that's the reason why i don't start too much cause i can't have time to comment too much. at least comment when you start a discussion. that's what we are here for. to have interaction and talk with the use of letters.

Hello Annavi, Not really, I didn't come here to be a veteran attempting to be an admin. but I have been doing my best to show example that one of the best thing to have a real interaction is to comment on your responses or respond to their discussion. I think it's every ones responsibility to comment on their responses and not just me.

yes, it's everyone's responsibility to interact with others by responding, commenting and not just by starting a discussion and then run off just like that. as if asking a question and never even have reactions or even show appreciation that you have answered them back. too bad mylot admin don't have rules to end those users like that...

Hi LK I don't used to open my mail address too much. So whenever i was opening it it was full with mylot notifications. So I had already off all the notifications on mylot. Even when i accept or request any friend request, I put off the notifications for each and every friend too from the friend list. Still I am getting some mylot notifications about my deleted post. I am not active in my mail. So i always used to see friends discussions directly from 'friends started' tab here.

Hello akp100, There is this one person that doesn't care at all as long the user post as many as she could. from my count there are at least four or five that I have recalled posting tons and freaking tons of discussions every single day. maybe I could use it to my advantage in terms of responding and commenting to their discussions every day

I do this too. All of the individuals in my friends list have their notifications set off for me. I just try to browse from the myLot site if ever they create new discussions as I experience having heavy mail traffic when I used to set those notifications on. I guess there's really no problem with setting the notification off because you can still see new discussion from your friends through the friends started discussion tab.

Hi there LetranKnight! My star turned red a couple of weeks ago and still I haven't got up since then. I really am not concerned about it though. Maybe I just responded something which is quite sensitive for other that's why it went down and I have a suspicion on what response was that. Well, really nothing to worry about that. I think that you really won't have a problem having notifications on for me. I rarely starts any discussion so I am sure I am not the culprit of your heavy notification mail traffic.

I have a lot of those in my friends list, too. I don't respond to too many of them, their subjects just aren't interesting to me. Response collectors don't usually have discussions, they're mostly questions followed by answers with no interaction. That's boring for me. I feel badly about it sometimes but my time is valuable even if they don't think it is.

Hello dragon54u, Oh, YEAH you read my MIND there my friend, that's exactly what am talking aboutsometimes I don't know why some are in such a hurry to post and doesn't give a crap whether this person would comment or not. It is boring and frustrating because such user doesn't care at all except money

thanks for the idea letran Ihavelost patience with those who will jus to on making five six eight discussions a day, then when I respond to those that interest me I never ever get a comment back not one. I do not understand why this person even wastes his time doing this since he evidently thinks all these responses are earning him money. No matter how many times we all say those responses only earn the responder money they still do not buy our answers. so just turn off the notification for those people great idea. thanks.

Hello Hatley, THe ones I see going from five to eight or more, it's just too damn many for me to respond to.you're one of those I also admire because you tend to respond to obviously a lot of discussions lately. this is something that can be understandting. maybe I should look into deeper responding to topic that interest me the most. have a nice day.

Yes, i do discovered there are a few members in my friend's list who likes to makes lots of discussions. So, i usually just answer a few of their discussions that interest me. Those that don't interests me, usually will get deleted by me. I don't have much time to online, so i will takes time to comment back and even reply to those discussion that interest me. Don't worry, those who had comment on my discussion will surely receive their reply, only i need more time to do it. Same like you, LK.

I'll be honest with you, notifications have been turned off for me for quite some time, full stop, one hundred percent. A lot of the things that I have been notified about, I have already seen already. So really there are just many times where it is just completely old news and thus, why waste the space in my e-mail box from getting notifications to begin with if I'm going to see it already. A lot of people do tend to make a lot of topics in a row, at least from what I see. Some of them can handle it but many I don't think can not. I just shake my head when I see more than about four or five topics in a row so close together and really, one might argue that about four or five might be pushing the outward bounds of sanity, but different strokes for different folks indeed. If I expected people to act in a reasonable manner, I would be setting myself up for disappointment far too much.

Hello megamatt, As for me, I've not been looking for my email very often. Nor I don't want to see it. but there was a time that I chose to respond on their topics using the email that i see their topics at. after doing that I deleted those topics that I have responded in my emails. maybe I was just ranting but only if some users comment on their responses when ever they make their topics, i wouldn't care if they have 20 discussions a day

I don't mind much of adding people here on mylot as much as more than on Facebook. Facebook, i be aware of adding people. As for Mylotter being a response collector, I haven't yet experience much. I'm just thinking maybe they want to participate as much as everyone. It's good to turn off notifications if you don't want to hear that on emails, but if you like hearing from the emails, I'd rather just create a folder on your email list and call it "MyLot" and not mix it with any other Inbox messages.

Hello Webgirl, It's good to know that you're commenting on you're responses. as long as you're commenting on your responses, that is important despite if you have so many discussion you never forget to comment.besides, I have many discussions myself in the past but I never forget to comment even if it takes a while for me to respond.

It is up to you to do what you like. If there is a section where you can effectively control the response that you receive you are at liberty to use or apply it. I wish you all the best of mylot. have a great day

It really doesn't bother me if someone makes alot of discussions for me to respond to. The more I respond, the more I earn and contribute.

There's something wrong with the notifications which I've been experiencing since last year. I actually turned off all notifications because I don't read them anyway and I just go directly to myLot. But I still get tons of notifications for everything. I tried toggling the options in the notifications page a couple of times and it didn't help. Then I decided to just let it be. I don't use the email address myLot is sending notifications to that much anyway.
