I have added a few kilos recently, in the last few months. Even then it is the least of my concerns. The main concern that I have is that my stomach seems to growing a bit too much. My work schedule is too bad and the night shifts are killing. As much as I try sleeping during the day,the sleep is a pretty disturbed sleep and does not seem enough. Due to this, I sleep, get up eat, go to work, return and then eat and sleep again. Dieting is out of the question as I cannot control hunger. Exercise seems to be a very remote possibility. What should I do?

What can I say but eat more fiber, fiber, and more fiber. Eat both insoluble and soluble. Insoluble fiber is found in nuts and whole grains like oats and brown rice. Soluble fiber is in fruits and vegetables and beans. Researchers have found t hat for every 10 grams of soluble fiber a person consumed daily, 3.7 percent less belly fat was gained over time. so eat more fiber.

I think that I want to support what @deebomb say... eat more fiber (fruit, vegetables...), and my add : drink more water. I read an article, drink 1.5 liter water every morning can help to reduce weight. If you can't, drink more water every day, at least 3 liter. Hope this share with you. Best,

I think this could certainly help a lot. I'll try this and see what happens. But the fact is that I cannot resist chicken.

You can always exercise in house, do some stretches, some push-ups and curl-ups. You do not have to pay for a gym especially if they are that far. Also, try to control your hunger by eating fruit and vegetables which are filling your stomach much without adding unwanted calories, like apples, pears and bananas.

I am not vegetarian either, let your lunch be anything and as much as you want, but keep your dinner low at calories. Maybe a fresh salad, or 2-3 fruit would be good choice.

Well, that is some real good advice. May I ask you if it is ok to eat chicken. I eat it almost everyday. I am a non-vegetarian to the core.

Stress does add up more to pot belly. I suggest that exercise will help you reduce it and at the same time eating healthy food when hunger strikes. Try to find time to go the gym or exercise at least cardio exercise like walking or jogging at least for 30 minutes at first then increased it as you go along.

I believe that this is the best solution. But the time factor is a major concern. 30 mins of exercise, could actually mean an hour and a half for a peron in Mumbai as the closest gym is not conveniently located.

Dear Amit Let's talk about your 'pot belly' issue. This is not an uncommon problem for people who starts to be overweight! You are being to become an 'apple' shaped person. Believe me fatness begins from your stomach or belly. Why? The extra fats starts accumulating in and around you stomach, after which it spreads to the legs and then on to your arms. Secondly don't say that you don't have time. Time will pass with or without your permission. Remember the saying, 'Time and Tides awaits no man.' Period. Thirdly you do not know how to prioritize your time. If you know about the 80/20 principle you would know what is best for your body and your happiness. Please research on the above Pareto Principle of the 80/20 rule. This is my take for now. OK? Thanks. Bro. Joe. GBU.
