Hi Friends I have just discovered today when I opened my gmail at google they have a free sms service just like chikka. All you need is to have a google account, then open your gmail. there is SMS there where you will put the number of the recipient and then send sms for free. If the recipient replies, 2 pesos is also the price so more or less same like chikka. It is a very good way to save, since chikka have a limit, you could have gmail as another source of your free sms. it is very easy to have a gmail account, i hope you guys try this one. Lets use it while it is free.

I think this is useful for those who are not using a smartphone as they can save money using this. In my case however i use a smartphone with unlimited data plan which means i can send messages using gtalk, ym, skype, live messenger, etc for free. Thus i hardly use sms anymore. I only use sms to people that don't have smart phones yet. But they do have computers so it's easy to communicate with them using those messengers.

I think it is very ideal for people who work abroad and have laptop or pc's and yes even smartphones, if they have access to the internet sending a message to their loved ones at home will be very ideal. I find this very useful and a good find. Also unlike chikka you can send to other countries and all carriers from the US are supported so its great even for those who are in the philippines to pop in a message to their loved ones in the states

I think i'm lucky that almost all the people i know all around the world from Europe to America, including Asia use smartphones. We can do group chatting which is very cool because we can all talk using the different applications like kakao talk which is famous in Asia; BBM which i'm using with people at the corporate world and whatsapp. My gosh even twitter nowadays is even faster than a text message. And i just had the longest conversation with a guy from UK.

Yes, I agree with you, because, i also have a Gmail account, i also send various messages to my friends, and it is very easy to send the messages from gmail account. There are so many online websites which we can send free sms from internet, but it is very easiest way to send sms from Gmail account while we can also see the emails which we received.

wow, thanks for the information! It is really helpful. I have a gmail account which I don't open regularly, it is only now that I know about it. Thank you! I sent a message to my boyfriend right away. We can only send 50 text messages in there but it is definitely a lot convenient than Chikka since I don't like Chikka on ym computer. This is definitely helpful, a million thanks to you!

I have also discovered this free SMS sending through Gmail when I created a new account days ago. This is cool because Gmail is trying it's best to create innovative ideas for its consumers. It also has a chat feature that I am dying to use one of these days. This improvement in Gmail is a very good thing for me because I really prefer using Gmail in communicating through the internet.

I also saw that in the news about sending SMS thru gmail account. I haven't try it though but I guess that will be helpful. Regarding chikka, there is no limit in sending text. You can just try to delete the recipient on your list and try to add them back. No need to wait for them to reply on your text.

Thanks for sharing that info pbbbsra but I am texting people less so I don't think I am going to use that anyway. Free SMS or chatting online are good for those who really love to have such a long conversation with others. For people like me who just use SMS for important deals I don't think we need that yet.
