What do you do to earn extra money?

I work part-time for one company offline and participate in doing surveys online. I also do some transcription work online to earn some extra money. I also participate in a site that gives points for doing activities. I then redeem those points for gift cards which I can use like money at local stores. Occasionally, I will have a yard sale to earn some money which helps to get rid of things I don't use any more. what do you do to earn some extra money? Do you do it all the time or just once in awhile? Do you make a lot of money all at once or do you make a little money on a regular, consistent basis?

I really don't earn that much, but I like to make money online. I just decided to try out this site. I usually spend extra money on fun things. Sometimes it's food, other times it's stuff I need. What's the name of the site you get those gift cards from? I plan to use this site for a while, but it would be fun to see another site too.

Hi royal, nice to see an old friend, I do a few things online but that doesn't net me much. Surveys are hopeless. I get less than $5 at the top and 10 cents at the bottom - they are hardly worth my time. My good earner is my volunteer driving. I don't get paid, naturally, but I do get out of pocket expenses and a car allowance.

Hello MsTickle. I don't do many of the surveys any more either. I used to make good money on them and then they changed over to sweepstakes entries which are a complete waste of time for me. The market had changed a lot over the past two years.

At the minute, all I'm doing to earn extra money is participating on mylot (which unfortunately, I'm still a way from payout yet) and microworkers (which was great for the first few days, but now I find there are very limited job opportunities, and they seem to be updated fairly infrequently). I'm very new to the world of online earnings, and am hoping to get better/learn more as time goes on!

Good question. In order for you to do what I do in my transcription work, you would need to earn your degree in medical transcription or in general office transcription. You really have to have an excellent command of the English language, understand Latin and Greek languages and how they are used in the medical field, spelling, punctuation, and how to punctuate broken English because people do not speak the way they write. Once you have that part done, then you can seek out jobs online on a variety of sites. You should be able to type 50 to 60 words per minute or more, have an excellent set of headphones. The cheap headphones are not good enough for this type of work as you will not hear everything you need to hear. You also need to have good listening skills. My other part-time job is a combination of sales and marketing, educating people or teaching people something they may not know, a lot of public speaking and again, listening skills.
