My Least Favorite Household Chore

is definitely ironing. It's fine that I clean the house, do the laundry, cook, clean the kitchen, etc., etc. But please, don't expect me to iron clothes. It's just too hard. Plus, I'm really lousy in doing that. My husband would just re-do what I did and that would only tick me off. That's why we have someone come over to our place every week to iron our clothes for us. How about you? What's your least favorite work in the house?

Honestly my dear, I forgot how on earth I was able to get my Paypal verified. I'm sorry I can't help you with this. You sure you have no connection problem? Or that you filled up the blanks completely and with the correct details? Are you sure you didn't get any of my 3 messages?? That's really odd!

I hate laundry! Its okay if I am washing small items like my shirt and socks. But when it comes to my pants and jackets, I almost want to give up on the laundry. They are just so heavy that my back and my arms ache. But, I'm forced to wash those items since I don't have any other choice but to wash them myself. And I don't want to spend much on paying for laundry shops.

Hi mabel! I do the laundry every other day since we have a washer. If I would do it manually, I would probably do it on a weekly basis. I only hand-wash clothes when we bleach our whites. We do that twice a month.hihihi I used to go to laundry shops in the Philippines, too. It's very costly. Yikes!

I'm sure I hadn't used that before.hihihi.. I hear you girl! Rinsing can be tricky. I sometimes end up washing 4 times just to make sure that I cleaned my laundry right. Those were the days, hahahah!

Yeah, very costly. I'm still a student so that's a big cut on my allowance.. Are you familiar with Ariel's "isang Banlaw"? I'm very thankful to that product coz I don't have to wash the clothes three times just to get rid of the bbbles.

I also don't like ironing of clothes but I don't like doing the laundry more! haha Its just so tiring for me especially I'm doing it manually. Well, we have a washing machine but my husband's clothes are not suitable for machine wash...haiz! It took me hours before finishing the laundry and leave me with back ache and sometimes some wounds on my fingers! Ironing of clothes and washing them are my least favorites, actually I really don't like but those are also the things that I must do regularly!

The only clothes that I can wash with the machine are his pants and some shirts, my clothes and the blankets ans bed sheets...but the clothes that he used for his office, I must wash it by hand or else it will be ruined...I once try to wash them on machine and the result? The polo can't be worn again..hehe Before, he also helps me doing the laundry but now, nah...he's so busy with his work...no more time to help me! It's really nice that your hubby is helping you doing the chore... aww! haha lol!

Hi ck! Well, it's a good thing that my hubby's clothes are fine being washed with the machine. we still hand-wash them every month (at least) to remove the stains from the neck and the underarm area. I say "we" here because sometimes I do it, sometime he does.hahahaha! So this is like a general cleaning of his office shirts and under shirts. Hihihi.. As to ironing, forget it!

I have always had the good fortune to have helpers around but I cannot believe that I am now able to do all those chores myself as maids are a rare commodity these days. I do have some help but not the kind I used to have when all what I did was overlooked their activities. For me none of the chores give me joy but one needs to survive and therefore I gear myself with an attitude of 'let me like what I am doing' and bingo there I am getting about doing everything that needs to be done. Ofcourse I have never done ironing as my gardener takes our clothes to the laundry nearby.

In fact I have elevated them to a level that is rare to find. We too are very kind towards our maids but they are more comfortable if they are given their own space.

Your funny allknowing! Were you aware that you just referred to maids as commodities? That's hardly the case for us. While growing up, we always had helpers too. But we don't treat them like differently. They eat with us and laugh with us as they are part of our household. Anyway, good for you that you are able to do house works now. You should be proud of yourself.

My least favorite work in the house is cleaning the house! I am allergic to dust and when I have to clean the house, I need to dust off all furniture aside from sweeping and mopping the floors around the house. Dust is really disgusting to me. Washing is okay because I use the washing machine and manage to do other chores while it is running; ironing, I would tolerate because I get satisfied if I iron the clothes to near perfection. I would welcome cleaning the toilet because I always like my toilet to be super clean, not a stain in the bowl for instance, just white forever! And I love cooking, thus cleaning after is welcome, though it is tiresome sometimes when you get to use a lot of things to cook what you want.

Yes I have a helper to do that. I have my own technique when ironing anything. And yes it's a lot cheaper to hire someone, and you are giving someone a job!

Hi there micki! If you're allergic to dust, it would really be difficult for you to clean your house? So how do you do it? Do you have a maid or someone else to clean it for you? I don't know how to iron. That's my problem. Say, in one hour, I could finish just 4 polo shirts. That's too much electricity wasted. It's cheaper to hire someone to do it for us.

Thanks funny! Well, I know which parts to iron. My hubby told me a few pointers ahahaha! But still, I can't do a decent job out of it. Yeap, we better stick to the no-iron clothing. It's gonna' save us a lot of trouble in the long run.

i still can't bear it though... ironing is also a tough one... i always iron the wrong side or sleeve... i'd rather buy clothes that needs no ironing...

we don't iron. for a while, my husband ironed a few of his clothes, but most clothes don't need ironing. our ironing board and iron are now in the garden shed, just in case we need them. the vast majority of things that need ironing can be hung on a hanger when they're damp and left to dry for a good effect. they call it students ironing. almost nothing NEEDS ironing and it's pointless. I love giving the kitchen a good clean, but don't like vacuuming or bathroom cleaning. but it's more a case of general tidying I don't like. I like CLEANING. but tidying I hate.
@Galena (9110)
28 Jul 11
far from it. it's a waste of money spending much on clothes unless it's really special. we just don't wear many clothes that need ironing. and shirts come out fine from being hung up.

Hi Galena! You don't iron your clothes? You must have expensive types of clothes then. We only iron the office shirts of my hubby. And everything else, we fold and wear as is!hahahaha! I like tidying up and do a little cleaning. It's fun to see the dusts in one place sometimes!

I hate ironing too & don't do it as a rule but I would have to say that my least favourite chore is cleaning the toilet...I just don't like it & the thought of my hand touching the bowl (even with gloves on) makes me feel ill

I think all chores that would wet my hands are my least favorite because they ruin my nail polish. But with the help of gloves I can very well manage. Ironing clothes is tedious but I love doing that during rainy or cold days. I will hate ironing clothes when the weather is really hot. As a mother I think household chores are part and parcel of my life so I have learned to love all chores around me no matter how tedious they may be. anyway I have a very helpful and hardworking hubby who makes things easier for me.

Hi salonga! That's one reason why I'm not putting on nail polish anymore. I also cut my nails every week. I don't like dirt to get inside my nails every time I do house chores. I prefer it clean and simple. hihihi...

I can do every household chores, even stick up my hand in a clogged sewer or pick up a soap in a toilet bowl but don't let me do the laundry. On the other hand my wife will do anything except iron my office uniform, I on the other hand would love to iron my clothes since I can't wear it anyway if she do it for me.

Hahaha! You're like my hubby ybong. If I do the ironing, he can never wear his clothes to work! Sometimes, I even ask him to iron my shirts when it's terribly wrinkiled! Anyway, speaking of getting something from the toilet bowl, my husband also dropped something in there. It's not a soap bar though; it's our wedding ring! hahahaha! We had to get a new one because of that incident. Lucky is that man/woman to find his ring in the sewers!

Hehe..someone come over to your house just for ironing clothes?? If only I can have that person to help me as I am lazy with it too~ For me it is ironing and washing the dishes. My dishes is fine but when it plus with the others and all the pot and frying pans.... I just feel ..okay I want to do it later. Thank God I am not that kind of person . Just thought of doing so but I will make sure I will do these two things as fast as possible before I get the laziness feeling back.

Hi my friend! Yes, someone comes over to do the ironing. It actually saves us a lot of money since we're saving on energy. If I would be the one to iron..oh dear! It would take ages before I finish them. And when I've finally done them, it's below the expectations of my hubby so he does it again sometimes. It's better this way!

Well my least favorite is cleaning utensils and washing cloths to the Perfection: I don mind washing or cleaning, but doing that up to a level of perfection is time consuming and I myself do not get satisfied with my work in these areas.

I would definitely skip on cleaning the toilet and I will give it to hubby as an assignment. I don't have any problem with ironing, I am good at that since my mom taught me how to. But when it comes to scrubbing the tiles of the toilet, the sink and such, oohh count me out. We don't have house maids to do such since our place is not that big and we don't have running kids yet.

I agree with you!! I will not iron clothes!!! I have a travel steamer that gets the wrinkles out of most stuff, and I try to buy things that don't wrinkle very much because I know I won't do it. I don't even mind the process that much but it is so time consuming and now that there are wrinkle-free clothes out there, I refuse to participate!

Hi hdc! Well yes, I'm not fond of ironing clothes, as well. In our household, we only iron the working polo-shirts of my husband. Our t-shirts, blouses and pants are not being ironed, anyway. Only if our shirts are really crumpled that we are forced to iron our clothes. That rarely happens.
