Stop Pushing the Elevator Button!!

We went to the mall and we had to use the elevator to go to ground parking. I pushed the button once and the lights said its coming. The numbers are also pointing down. Then a man came and started to push the buttons again, and I mean not once, he pushed the button, and then pushed it again, and again, and again... Do you also do like that? It wasnt my first time seeing someone pushing an elevator more than once. And I admit I do the same too. Do you really think it will make the elevator arrive faster if you push it a lot of times. I know it wont but maybe its a natural thing. What do you think?

It really does not bother me. normally it is my child hitting the button 900 times. What annoys me, is when you are in the elevator and more that one person hits the wrong button. they you have to stop on every floor, when no one is getting off or getting on.

I would be really mad if someone did that to me. I would also be unhappy if I got out and right as the doors were closing they say, you dropped your phone or wallet. You would then turn around and it would be too late. That might be funny to the other person though, but it is not a good idea.

@fierce- some people are always in a hurry. he figured that it would be quicker to take the stairs. @dwarf- hopefully, if you dropped your wallet, people would have the decency to hold the elevator for you to grab your wallet.

Well, if the person presses it a few times I won't mind but if it's repeated countless times, I'd get a bit riled. If a child keeps pressing it, I really don't mind but if it's an adult, I probably just "Try" to ignore it. Lol

It certainly would not make the elevator arrive faster. I only press once. When I see the button is lighted, then that's good enough for me. Honestly, I think it's funny when I see someone push the button again and again.

Elevator button - Hit the button once not many times!!(^^)
hahaha....hitting the button many times and it will help it down and up faster??? you really make me laugh~ Only one time is enough friend..Yeah, many people tend to do the same thing and I wonder why too..maybe they thought the elevator won't down and up if they don't push it many times. They just want ot make sure it moves or maybe they are in bad mood and express it emotionally through it.(^^)You know what?? I hate elevators because of its button. I always get mistake with its buttons even if they are all simple buttons. And because I hate it I don't push it many times but just once. (^^)

haha I do that also sometimes, but I laughed on my mind if I saw some other doing that, I dont know maybe its already a habit, or because we see that on many so we only copied them. cliche:)

I wish the elevator would come faster. It doesn't make a difference though. I was at a cross walk one day where you push the button to get the light to change. I came up with the idea that if you push it many times, the system will think there are more people. That way, they should change the light sooner so less people have to wait. To bad it doesn't work like that. If everyone pushed the elevator button the most to get it to come to their floor, they would wear out to fast.

I have to say I don't really do it myself. I just push it and wait usually. When I use to work in a hotel, I use to always see people standing at the guest elevators pressing the call button many times. I think sometimes people loose their sense of time and feel they have been waiting forever, so they become impatient. I use to like the times, after pressing the elevator call button, and it coming a few floors down, stops and then goes back up for some reason. In all though I just use the stairs mainly now a days if I don't have anything to carry.

Nope it won't make the elevator move faster but people tend to do that out of frustration especially when they are in a hurry. It's like an instinct that comes naturally to us!

The elevator wouldn't go faster by pushing the button successively. How ignorant and impatient that man is. He doesn't know how to respect others' properties.
