I got this new hair oil, which was famous here in my city. It was mentioned it cools the head, releases the headache and helps hair growth and removes dandruff. My friend was using it and she felt its good. I tried it this week and i find myself sneezing and a blocked nose after using this oil. I stopped it for a while now and feel a relief from cold. I wonder if an hair oil can really induce the symptoms of cold.

Could be because it was a coincidence of using it and perhaps already going to get the viral cold. On another note though, could it be that you are allergic to the product and had both the cold too. Allergies bring on cold like symptoms so I wonder if both are related.

Wow amazing on how something new can cause this sometimes. May I suggest you look at the ingredients it contains so that anytime you buy something that can contain some of those ingredients that you try and avoid. You never know if something will react really badly, so keep that in mind. Glad you tested this and now know. Be careful.

Sounds more like an allergy....there might be something in it that has caused your symptons....like the sneezing etc! I would quit using it!

Hi besthope, Cold is basically due to virus or allergies. Since you were suffering from cold after started using this oil, then it is because of the hair oil you were using. May be you were allergic to the oil smell or the greasy quality of oil. Because of the allergic reaction to your body it resulted in cold. Your friend is not allergic to the said oil, so she did not had any problem. Not only oil but also food can cause allergies and result in cold or any other kind of discomfort. It is as simple as that. Happy Living calpro

Hi Calpro, You are right. This oil has tendency to cool the body and I feel my body due to extreme chillness has caused allergitic and has induced cold. Since I am in cold now a bit..I wanted to confirm, if its the oil or something else. Thats clear Calpro!

possible. Due to scent in the hair oil - allergic reaction u might have caught cold. whenever u use a new product u must use in stages. after getting used to it then u can take full quantity and apply.

Yes, I realize now. I had some hair problems, so I tried the new one without hesitation. And finally landed up with cold for the days. Will be careful now on..I believe its allergic reaction.
