Most seafood contains iodine which is necessary for normal thyroid function and helps in our body metabolism.Seafood are also a good source of healthy protein because it doesn't contain saturated fat unlike red meats.Though seafood has more benefits to our body; too much consumption especially of shrimps, crabs and oysters can be detrimental to our health because they have high level of cholesterol and uric acid in them.Just make sure to take evrything in moderation to have optimum health.

I am not a vegetarian, but I don't eat meat any more. But, I still like eating sea food, different kinds and different ways of preparations. When I go to restaurants serving buffet lunch and dinner, my plate is often full with sea food and veggies, no meat !

It depends, some fish are loaded with mercury and some I won't even touch, which is shellfish. That is because of what their diet consist of makes them not a good choice to eat and why many people are allergic to this kind of food. If you ask me, the ones allergic to shellfish have bodies that is telling them that shellfish was not meant for human consumption..

Seafood is good especially fish that contain omega-3 fatty acid like salmon, milkfish and the like. But other seafoods are also good for they contain iodine that helps us avoid thyroid disease. Nevertheless, anything in excess is not good so make sure you don't eat too much lest you get fat and obese or worse...sick.
