MyLot abusers: Do you rate (-) or (!) ?

Do you think all ! and - are checked and deleted.If such a discussion really deserves such rating then it is better we rate it.However still i did not use any sort of rating symbols.

When I see a violation I use the ! and report it with no hesitation. If I am in doubt whether a certain post is a violation or not then I use the ! and explain my doubts to admin. He will then take the necessary action and delete if there is a violation or ignore my report if it is not. I don't use the - button, except for plagiarism and abuse but then I also report. I see others saying that they don't report new users and in my opinion that is wrong. If a new user posts something which is a violation then they will not realise that they did so if their post is not removed. They will continue to do the same thing over and over again and then, when eventially admin does remove those posts, they could also lose their account. Therefore I report any violation, regardless of whether the user is a new or old here.

Hi there, I haven't seen any violators lately. I had seen one in the past, that was over the line and I reported it in mylot admin. He was copying materials over the internet and not only that, he was responding to various topic with the same sentences. I mean, identical replies to different topic. LOL! That was a bit crazy and he was spamming mylot. I think that was a year ago.

Yes this is very bad when someone posts a discussions or respond from which violence can be erupt. So I always avoid these types of discussions and always gives (-) rating. Because these types of discussions or posting are against Mylot policy. Because it is a very clean and friendly site and we shouldn’t dirty this.

I haven't touched those buttons, except once (!) when I reported myself of double responses... I guess it depends on how serious is the abuse. You can use (!) when it is intolerable, but don't forget to state your reason for it.

I have not come across many gross violations. I use to have different views and not in agreement with some points. There I use (-) I do not remember to have used (!). In case I come across violation I do not mind describing the violation. What about you? Do you use ! or (-)

When I see a violation by a member that is not a newbie (such as promoting a site or the like) I report it to the administration. When it´s a newbie, I explain sometimes, other times I leave th post, depending on my time.

I have not had a run in with an abuser here in MyLot as of yet. But, yes I would report any abuse to the site. I would also rate them down. So far, i found everyone here to be great people and now great friends.

Usually I do not report the same. I prefer to reply to the post by bringing it to the violator's attention that they have violated a regulation of myLot. I believe that some people violate norms because they are ignorant. This gives them an opportunity to tell the admin that it has been a mistake and that the post be removed.

Yes, I do use the negative rating button for those pesky and ill advising comments but I only seldom have used it. I usually use the report button to delete my own posts which are duplicated and for some violations of other users like spamming. But I only use this buttons sparingly.

I do... Its the only defense we have against violators. Sometimes I dont have the strength to give an answer to people who want to start a fight so what I do is post their comments as negative or violating. Then I also describe the violation details. I know there are certain guidelines with this too, but when i really think people crossed the lines, i write the reasons and all is up to mylot to review.
