Why do men cheat?

"Men cheat, because other women are willing to be the other woman which make it easy for them to cheat and because they are the weaker of the two sexes. They also cheat because most of them saw it growing up and was part of the norm, and maybe they don't know any better. Because when people know better they do better. This is a fact of adults, males, females, preachers, pastors, politicians & etc.
However if you know God and have been taught better and know that this is wrong, that cheating always causes pain in a family, we will think before we get involve.But some men cheat because they are trying to feel void or replace something missing in their lives.Others also cheat because they are dogs and will always be "DOGS" and because we have lot of women out there that are willing and will present the Temptation. And we are animals and no animals are Monogamous, no species in the animal kingdom. That is why the chances of cheating if we know we won't be caught, remain high no matter what we give to them."

I have to start this one off like this. People are just another type of animal. Everything we do is animal instinct. Also, men are not the only ones who cheat, women cheat also. I believe people cheat first out of animal instinct and second because they do not think. I know as humans we have the ability to reason and understand, other animals do not. I get that. Me, I am not a cheater, never have been and will not start now. People cheat for many different reasons. And like I said, it's not just men who cheat. I could ask you, why do women cheat? It's the same thing. Maybe they just don't love their partner, or some other reason. Also, when people get married, the marriage license is not a document of ownership. It is supposed to be an equal partnership. Again, God has nothing to do with people cheating. We are adults and we have minds of our own. We have no one else to blame but ourselves.

I got what you mean inertia and you got brilliant mid in there. I appreciate for all you have said and I'm open minded so I totally understand what you mean. Yes, maybe a person cheat for he/she is not totally in love with his/her partner and is looking for a better one.

I do believe that in the name of love, We are all considered equal. Women also cheat, It also depends on who gets enough love and who lacks and wants more love. I do believe this is sometimes or yet mostly unavoidable. As what they say, the more love the better. But one things for sure, give and receive love without anyone getting hurt in the process.

well, i don't blame you casue you are definitely correct there. it just depends on how the person handles him/herself in such "temptous" occasions they engaged in.
if you know your commitments, then get a grip to control yourself.
don't say "i am just a man!" that's just not right! you are the one making the fool out of you.

Hello nurseclare,
I think the problem is the flesh ruling over the spirit man. even men who are or call themselves Christians, like you say even pastors. We all at some point heard of this stuff on the news; I guess they think because they go to church or preach the gospel they can live the way they want and it's Ok but it's not. Satan attacks us all that's why we need to put on the whole armor of God.

that sounds very sad. you must have had that happen or something. not all men cheat. 
and i hate to tell you this but there are lots of animals monogomus. actually, animals know nothing of Gods law. but lots of men do, so sorry you've had these bad experiences. 1 person likes this

You made me laugh for being sorry that i have experienced this one, well this only popped up my mind and nothing else. I'm just preparing myself if this will happen to me. I hope not! I'm so afraid to be hurt and caught my boyfriend cheating1 I hope he's so good in keeping what he does back of me! :(

About why men cheat I believe is rooted in that we are animals. Some of us animal creature knows the civilities of emotional respect towards one another. Therefore some men knows the pain and hurt for cheating, and lives in fidelity with his woman.
Other males are just like the males in a horde of females, they want to make sure their genes will live on in coming generations, which I believe are in the sub-conscious of some males.

you have mentioned some of the reasons why men cheat. however, i am not agreeable to project women as a reason. i would like to stick to the perspectives and inner motivation of men. having the women as a reason can only dismiss the culpability of men in cheating. i want to see cheating as an act that should be owned by the actor/actress and not by others.

I don't want to sound biased but men do cheat more often than women. Why? Because I believe that women need reasons to cheat while men just need a place to do it...
Though men might present a lot of alibis to justify their cheating but it always ends up as them being an a$$holes. No man in his right mind would want to hurt his family or the people he loves. If he did cheat on them, that only means that such 'love' is not pure....
If you can not tame yourself and knows that you'll end up cheating on your partner, why would get yourself into a relationship? This shoud be their mindset but some men just don't think of what others might feel or think, they just go with what they want and lust for...Giving in to temptation is so easy compared to fighting it....

nurseclare, it's not just men who are cheating. but i can say, most men are cheaters than ladies. but it also depends on how they both react on what they do in such tempting night. they both have to respect their commitments for them not to hurt others. there are also reasons why they do that cheating thing. it maybe they are not happy or contented to their partners.or they just want to explore other trippings with others. it's just we all have different views and attitudes as well. we are all equal. though, we all have our own thinking as well. it's just a matter of how we think in such situations.

i agree with you that boys cheat because there are woman who let the boys cheat and there are woman who are more willing to be the other woman and also it is part of their being to be a cheater. girls reason? they like the guy sometimes they love the person so much that they rather be the other woman. maybe there would not be a cheater if the girl does not want to have a cheater boyfriend. if they don't let their boy cheated on her.

yes meriel, you have a point. Some girls just let their self to be a woman which I think not good at all. I don't know how it feels to be the other woman. I always pray to GOD that I'm always on the right path.

they said guys do cheat on their partner just to boost their ego, just to prove to their selves and friends that they are attractive and can get away with it, usually I think this kinds of guys have insecurities, and also I heard because men are born polygamous, but maybe some men also are not doing that, maybe it's those who love their gf/wife so much and don't want to ruin their family.

accordingly, men are bigamous by nature. I can say that cheating can be classified as physically or emotionally. Physically, if they just want to get into the pants of someone else. And emotionally, if love is involved. But in any ways, girls should be threaten of the two. But the question is, what hurts more?

That two reasons hurts a lot. If you say physically then that means i can't give his needs and is really not contented of what i could give. :( Emotionally is really disgusting if the guy doesn't love his partner he must leave her alone. It's the sad part of every relationship. I hope we will all find our true LOVE without cheating..

It takes two to tango dont you think not just one but two people involve in an elicit affair. There are people would think only about their so called happiness but infact that is so selfish. They would not even think the consequences of their act. The feeling of betrayal..pain..broken trust of the injured party. They said that time can heal all wounds maybe thats true but trust I think not. For me contentment is the key to happiness and prayer of course. Ask God for his guidance and he will lead the way.:)

i think one of the many reasons for it is that people are vulnerable to temptation and that some are selfish. temptations, especially to married people are just everywhere and they could land on anybody. the issue is on how one can resist it. another is selfishness, many people are selfish, may it be married or not, men or women. sometimes, they just think of their own happiness, not withstanding the family they get to be broken and the people they get hurt. they are more obsess with their own feelings. it is sad. but it is true everywhere. reason why, it is one of the very thing i am praying everyday, that may my husband and i should always stand strong against temptation. a broken family because of third party gets rising everyday, i don't want my family in line. may God always hear my prayers!
Imagine, how can be a person who is really loved and willing to take care of but still he cant fight the urge to have another affair with other flirts.
Thats stupid thing for a guy to do!

I think some men are polygamous by nature.They want to prove their virility if given the chance.Most of the time they did it if they knew they have a chance or the woman is willing.There are others factors that can contribute to men's unfaithfulness to his partner, like marital problems or not contented with his wife or just to try if it is possible.Men also are tempted to do what is forbidden.

its hard to find a guy who is loyal and faithful. i think you have to do trial and error. you'll never know if you don't try it. i dont understand why men cheat.

Some men cheat because they were ignore and lack of wife's attention. Cheating is a mortal sin but we also bare in mind that some men cheat for a reason to find a comfort zone, to find love maybe because he was ignore by his family thus we cannot blame them also. Although, I am not agree with this but we should also need to hear men's side on why they cheat. They also become a cheater because of some women who tempted them. Some women accepts to become a husband's woman because of money.. those kind of women are not thinking that the first reason why men are with them because of the female-male relationship. Some men also are cheating because they wanted to called the "CHICK killer man"...
