Contact lenses

Are you take soap to wash hands before inserting or removing contact lenses? I was told that they should wash their hands with soap and cold water beforehand. Now I'm not sure I should take that soap.

For hygiene purposes, it is a must to wash your hands with soap and water before touching your contact lens to avoid eye irritation should your hands be dirty. But in all honesty, there are times when I am too lazy to wash my hands and just remove my contact lens. Lucky though, I haven't contacted any eye infections yet. But I know I should never risk it.
