I watched the TV show of Jessica Soho , wherein one of the topics were some funny names of the stores and products they saw . Here are some ; 1. MCDOLLIBEE Barbecue Stand - Combination of McDonalds and Jollibee 2. HARRY WATER Refilling Station – sounds like Harry Potter 3. Spoofs on T-shirts : Tag Hirap (Tag Huer) ; Star Buko (Starbucks) I am amazed at the ingenuity of some people really ! They could be copying other brand’s name yet they are still different.

No! I was mimicking the "You had me at hello" movie phrase. I was saying the Filipino ingenuity had me at Mcdollibee. Just by mcdollibee I was already laughing.

Yeah, the word McDollibee alone would make one smile or laugh. It sounds as if it is serving burgers, but it's not. They serve different kinds of grilled foods with rice at very affordable price. See how creative and funny we Filipinos are!

I always watch jessica Soho's show every Saturday. It is very informative and clearly explained by the host. Sadly though, those were only the things i saw, because i was late in watching it. I guess there were a lot more to those funny names. But anyway, at least i was able to share some.

Yeah Filipinos are world class for this one especially in imitating. Anyway, just the first time to hear that Mcdollibee thing and the Harry Water but the Spoof shirts, yeah we do have some shirts of their funny antics. The only thing I can't forget was the restaurant named "Sukhathai" which sounds like a short cut of vomit and poop pardon for those who are eating and reading my post.

OMG! So there's a restaurant by that name. I think from the word alone i can surmise that it's an Indian restaurant. But when you pronounce it as you read it, it really seems the two disgusting wastes !

I watched this show also last Saturday. Filipinos are really creative when it comes to the name of their business. My personal favorite is Harry Water, it is really appealing.

That's so funny and creative... I myself is not good at such though my brother is great with making new fun names for known brands.. I remember a jacket my mom bought.. it has "Sonopy" in it instead of Snoopy.. My mom read it as Snoopy.. LOL..

Nice one, SIMPLYD!!! Filipinos are real expert when it comes to this. Notice how they used ingenuity and humor to create something out of those familiar words we already know. Two thumbs up!!!

Correct! Filipinos are so creative and funny, that even when in calamities they can even still find time to joke about it. That's why Filipinos stand out even in down times.

In a nearby city we have a foreign restaurant named Phuket. I'm sure it's pronounced differently than what I'm thinking but I still find it funny! Also when I was traveling through Chatanooga I saw a tiny restaurant and it had a sign coming off the building that said Chopped Weiners. My husband sped past it! Ha ha! Why would someone decide to just put that on the sign? I don't know if they were trying to be creative or just couldn't think of a name!

If you are a Filipino, who wouldn't laugh if that restaurant Phuket is pronounced as with no T. I can just imagine your husband scampering past that Chopped Weiners part of the building. Maybe because he is a whiner himself. Actually weiner is a German word ?
