Your expectations in any mylot discussion???

Hello Friends, Lately, I was wondering what could be a perfect mylot discussion. I mean, how would you describe the best mylot discussion. Most of the times I expect the discussion initiator to reply to my comment but in general, there used to be no response which is obviously not encouraging. I don't find it easy to initiate discussion because it should have some meaning, there is no point in starting a discussion just for the sake of a few cents. When I start any discussion, I try my best to respond to all the comments that I receive and at the same time I make sure that I click the "+" for every comment that I get, all those people who respond to my discussions, I do feel thankful to them for their time and patience while adding the comment. Please share your views on this, tell me what all things you do for people who respond to your discussions and your expectations from a discussion initiator when you respond to any discussion.

We are all different and we all have different interests and that is why Mylot is a great place, as there are interesting things for everyone. Each day we face a variety of situations and so we start a discussion and discuss the matter with those that relate. You are a man with a heart. Have a great day!

Hi 1hopefulman, For any good discussion there are a few things required, different point of views, strict guidelines, willingness to discuss and a good platform. myLot is a combination of all these things, it's a very good platform and as it has people all around the globe, it's one of the best place to discuss on any topic and the very good thing about myLot is that you earn while sharing your opinion. Thanks for your response, 1hopefulman.

I have endeavored to make the threads I initiated interesting. But I guess they were not interesting enough because most have remained unanswered. I also try to respond to new issues raised by the "reactors." But there's one thread that I resolutely refrain from making further comments on, that topic I started regarding animal organ transplantation into humans. I want to listen to the various points of view regarding this one, so I have kept silent.

Hi RBBantiles, It's good to have an interactive mindset while responding or initiating any discussion, that's what will make mylot a better place and at the same time quality of the comments should also be good and relevant to the discussion. It doesn't matter whether we agree with others or not but we should have an idea of the topic that is being discussed. If you are delaying to add comments to better understand the topic, it's good for the discussion, to those people and for this website. Thanks for your response, RBBantiles.

I think a discussion is only a discussion if there is an interaction. I always answer responders too. It is respectful that I acknowledge their participation in my opinion. I enjoy being active in discussions too.

Yes, JenInTN. I agree with you, interaction is the most important thing in any discussion, if the discussion initiator does not reply to the comments in his/her discussion, obviously people who have responded to the discussion will not have interest in that discussion, which is not good. Thanks for your response.

I have no expectations when I post a topic. I have had upto 72 responses to zero!. It is difficult to gauge what holds users' interest. But sometimes even a single response can make your day as you can discuss at length with that single user.

Hi allknowing, Yes, you are right. Number of comments don't matter, it's only the quality of response that matters. It is said that if you don't have expectations and if you don't compare yourself with others, you will always succeed. It's good that you don't have expectations. Thanks for your response.

Actually there is no perfect mylot discussion as my observation, why? Because most of the title and ideas are same to each other. However, I'm still here because I enjoying to response to those discussion I like to comments. Every time I initiate a comments I expecting response back of the initiator of the discussion then I response back and forth - that's I always wish and expect here. Some of initiator of discussion are having talent how to furtherance and how they explain well their ideas but on other some are just a question and sometimes answerable by yes or no only, or even a survey only..

Hi visavis, As we can't weigh air in Kilograms, similarly, we can't say that a particular discussion is perfect or not. A discussion could be interesting or not interesting and that also depends on our mood and interests. By replying to any of the comments in your discussion, we can only improve the chances of earning and improving the quality of the discussion. Thanks for your response, visavis.

Depends on our mood and interest, I don't think so my friend.. because if you are not in the mood or interest you don't time to even open mylot. Once you are here your purpose is to see a discussion to comments but sad to say some are not good enough because what I say in other box of my comment.

Hello Dollar, A good discussion is called when there is involvement of lot people in to it and there is open minded opinions to that topic and at the last there is a conclusion. So in order to make it a good discussion initiator need to comment back on the responses he/she received. This is only expectation from the initiator that he should not be response collector from me.

Yes, I agree with you. Discussion means discussing everything (good/bad or right/wrong) about any topic, there is nothing personal while discussing on any topic. Conclusion is very important for any discussion and I don't see any option here on mylot where we can add a conclusion for any discussion. Nothing is perfect, everything can be improved and so does myLot. Thanks for your response, sjvg.

We don't need any button to press that we have reached to conclusion its up to the discussion intiater to realise it.

That's right but as it is not a verbal discussion, it will be on web in future and it can be of help for others who come across this discussion in future and if there is a text box where we can add the conclusion, it will be easier for those people to understand what was discussed rather than reading through these pages but I feel that would be too much and it will become a serious wikipedia kind of thing so we can say it's better the way it is.

Whatever subject we have in our discussion, it is important to answer the persons that have taken time to respond to us. I also appreciate them very much and rate them with a +. I try to find something encouraging to say to them individually so they feel I am interested in them and their thoughts, even if I donĀ“t always agree with them.. I like this place and have learned very much during the years I have been here!! Great discussion..

You are right, buenavida. Particularly, if you are initiating a discussion, it's important for you to share your point of view with others who are responding to your first comment. Saying thanks and rating them with a + is the correct way of greeting people in our discussion, it helps everyone (including you/I). Mylot is much more than just a money earning website, it's 100 times better than Orkut or Facebook. You can always learn something by discussing on any topic here on myLot. Thanks for adding your comment, buenavida.

When I find a discussion that interests me I start to formulate a response in my mind. When I get to the discussion and see many responses but no comments, my first thoughts are that the initiator hasn't come back to read and comment on the responses and lately, if I continue to add my response, it will sound more catty. The alternative is to leave the discussion and move on. My advice is, if you can't give feedback to your responders, don't start the discussion.

Hi MsTickle, Sometimes, the discussion initiator may be busy with his/her life and there could be a delay in response but if s/he is concerned about his/her discussion, I am sure s/he will certainly respond to the comments in his/her discussions. Even my advice will be the same "If you can't give feedback to your responders, don't start the discussion." Generally, people for the sake of money initiate more than 3-4 discussions, there is nothing wrong in initiating more number of discussions, it depends on your ability but at the same time, the quality of the topics and the number of responses in those discussions should be good. I have seen so many discussions where the discussion initiator has received more than 15 responses but s/he has not replied to anyone, I really hate such discussions. Thanks for your valuable response, MsTickle.

hi dollar when I get responses back on my discussion I try to get to them as soon as possible and comment back on each one as they took their time and energy to respond so now its up to me to coment on their remarks and not a glibe than you,no I explain my own feelings on what they said so they know I have read their responses and of course appreciated them also. but I put meat in to my comments. when I respond to others discussions I expect the same kind of trreatment from the discussion maker, a comment back agreeing or disagreeing i dont care but telling me what he or she thinks of what I said. I do not want to be thanked but to have the other person share with me about what I said. I like it when we agree to disagree as I have often learned new views and ways of doing things that I had not thought of.we are never too old to learn new things.I am always polite no matter what the response as we can all agree to share differing points if we are respectful to each other at all times.I comment back and I expect the same courtesy when I make responses to other's discussions too.

When I start a discussion I hope that people will be interested in my topic and I hope that they are willing to share their thoughts, opinions or experiences. It is always interesting to read the responses. I like a write a comment on every response and I enjoy the interaction with the members who respond When I start a new discussion I dont know if I will get 0 responses or 50 responses and I don't have any particular expectations about the number of responses. When I respond to a discussion I don't know if I will get a comment or not. I am always happy to get a comment and happy to "talk" other members, but I don't expect to get a comment every time I write a response, because I know that there are some members who never comment.

Hi Porcospino, It's good that you don't expect much while responding to or initiating a discussion. In my case, I want it to be a proper discussion where people are sharing there point of views. If the discussion initiator does not responds to the comments then what's the point in initiating a discussion? Yes, no one can reply to all the comments in his/her discussions but I've seen a few people who never reply to their discussion. It's just one cent gain story that's it. This is something that I don't like. Yes, even I want to earn money here on mylot but I would not try to add some junk to the website for a few cents.

A good discussion for me really is something that I think that I can sink my teeth into. Something that I really am going to write a lot about, if I am in theory find the topic interesting. Something that I can easily write a couple of rather solid paragraphs on the subject and move forward through each topic, perhaps creating a more engaging topic and the ability to share information. For people who respond to my discussions, I'd hope that they give at least a few lines of response. As I try and respond to all of the responses(even if it might take me a bit to get around to it sometimes), I do enjoy having something that I can work with and to respond to a great topic. Still there is nothing like a good topic, where everyone can get some value, whether it be knowledge or just something that is thought provoking.

Hi megamatt, Yes, it's very important to share our opinion in detail, the more we write the better it will be for others to understand what exactly we want to convey on any topic that we are responding to. As the quality of the response if one of the main factor for increasing the interest of others in any discussion, it's very important for us to explain in detail whatever we want to convey to others. This is how we can make it(mylot) a better place. Thanks for your response, megamatt.

It is always nice with a two way communication in a mylot discussion. I learn to read other people's points of views. Some time you feel you are the only one in the world with your problems or your experience. It is good to know from others, how they do, what they think or solve things for the best.

Yes, I always wish that I get a reply to my comments in any discussion. When someone asks a question and I am trying to answer it, it's his/her responsibility to reply to say at least thanks. If there is a two way communication then only you can share your experience with others. Thanks for your response, QeeGood.
