hello, i only have one friend online who has introduced me to online earning on a few sites. so that means i am called his referral. i was wondering as i read other discussions saying they get income from referrals. i also know that in some sites, getting them, one has to shelve out a few dollars to get them (i know this is not always the case though). i also understand that some have rented referrals. what if these referrals do not work? does it mean that the investment went to naught? referrals - how useful are they really? ann

You do not need to know them personally Ann, but if you do have some sort of relationship with them before signing them up, then you have more chance of them becoming active at a site. I knew the lady who referred me here for a couple of years at another site so I trusted her good words that she spoke about MyLot. That was what inspired me to get active initially. Before the addiction set in! Paying for referrals for any site is a complete waste of money in my opinion. The best way to get active referrals is to have some sort of relationship with them beforehand so that they initially trust the site that you are referring them to. Whether you actually know the person in real life, or have an online relationship does not matter. Then once they join, send them a welcome message and offer to assist in any way you can. As for how useful they are, well they help, but the best way to earn at any site like this is to be active yourself. Referral activity is just an extra bonus.

you don't have to know people personally to be able to convince them to join under your referral link. Infact a lot of people are gaining referrals from people they don't even know. As long as you're good in spreading your link and convincing people you don't even know to join under you you can get a referral. In case of purchased referral you have no guarantee that they will get you good earnings. Lucky for you if your referral is active otherwise you will not earn a decent amount from them.

In fact, i only have 2 referrals whom had joined under me are my friends. Majorities of the referrals which i had so far are strangers to me. I never able to get in contact with them at all.

No, you do not need to know then personally. If someone you know or a family member wants to join, great. But you have to post your referral link in places like link exchange sites, social networks, in your blog or webpage. It is not easy to get referrals, I know that first hand. I have been trying to get people to come here for a long time. I do now have 3 referrals, but they are not active. Another thing that would help, when you post your link in social networks and such, leave a detailed comment about the site, how it works and how much you can make. The trick is not to lie, but get the people interested. I also know, I can get many people to look at the site, but I cannot make them sign up. So, it is a difficult task. Now, when you do get referrals, the trick is getting them to be as active as yourself. Another hard task.

I don't think that we need to now our referrals personally. From my own experienced, most of the time, when we promote our links we will tends to get referrals who are strangers to us as our referrals. As for me, most important is active referrals. Only active referrals able to earned us good income. Those referrals who are inactive are useless to us and can't help us earn money. As for rented referrals, it is depends mainly on our luck. If we are lucky had rented active referrals, then we earning well from them.

for what i know you can only earn from referrals if the referral is active. and i think renting referrals that you need to pay few dollars could be a scam, but i'm not sure about this too, that's only what i heard from other.

In short, developing a business and enhancing income need a good network of business partners. As in all businesses, there will be risks in different ways. Partners have to work hard sincerely, keeping the interests and benefits of the members a priority.

You are right about all you said. It really depends on where site you are going to rent referrals. Most sites sell "Bots" and are manipulated by the system. But there are also some legit sites that are selling real human referrals, but the cost of renting them is much higher than other sites.
