While there is a test series going on in England to decide No.1 position, there is another series going on in Zimbabwe to decide the last position. Zimbabwe celebrated their reentry into test cricket after nearly 6 years gap with a solid start. playing against Bangladesh in one off test at Harare, Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe made 264 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, solid start indeed for a team which is playing after a long gap. Put into bat by Bangladesh after winning the toss Zimbabwe made a solid start putting on century partnership for the first wicket. Masakadza and Taylor were on the crease with 88 and 40 runs respectively. With skipper Taibu, Ervine, Chigumbura yet to bat, Zimbabwe are likely to put on a big first innings total. Bangladesh will certainly struggle to match that performance in alien conditions. Congratulations to Zimbabwe on their return to test cricket.

What a way to celebrate their return to test cricket. Looking at the series between the two most would have choosen Bangladesh to get the upper hand in the series. But look like after day one Zimbabwe have other plans and have ended the day at a strong 264 for the loss of 2 wickets. I hope for a competitive series between the two minow nations and may the better team come victorious..

yes and i don't think it is going to make a huge difference to them. it is the teams who are going to play with them who are going to get the most benefited. now the players will have the opportunity to play weak opponent and score huge runs and make personal records. like mathew hayden scored 380 and broke the record of brain lara once. now come on, we can never compare the bowling of england team and of zim. but still he scored more than 375 :P

Thank you amitav for your comments. Zimbabwe deserved a test recall. They produced some very good cricketers like Heath streak, Flower brothers and many more. Unfortunately I can not say the same thing about Bangladesh. They have been in test arena for so long but they have not don anything of note so far.

Hi divakar, Win or lose or play draw. These are the probable results in a cricket. After defaming defeat to England in the second Test. The morale of the Indian squad is naturally low. The way Zimbabwe is playing we can not write off their old forms and spirit.

@msdivkar noseries is played to rank any team rather the team performance make the rsnk. Also even if zimbabwe won the series i don't think they will leave the bangladesh behind to last. Yes intead it was a good come back for the zimbawe team and it is nice that they are performing and i like it because it is required to have compitition in crickewt like what we have in the football.

Welcome back Zimbabwe after six years. I think is that Bangladesh is also playing test after 14 months and its a big gap.Though Zimbabwe did not play test but they played couple of series of 4 days matches against South africa A and Australi A in their home. Its a plus point for them.Asian team always in danger in bouncy pitch, lets see how can Bangladesh handle this time when they will go for batting. Bangladesh is missing Masraffe the strike bowler due his fittness.
