Do you make curries? If so do you use a curry paste and just add meat and or vegetabes? Or do you just add a curry powder? Or do you add all the individual spices to make the whole curry from scratch.

Hello! I use curry powder. I haven't tried curry paste nor I haven't seen it in our local grocery here. I add curry before I close the fire. Do you add coconut milk when cooking curry? I do that when I cook curry.

Sometimes I add coconut milk - yum, and sometimes lemon or lime juice. I don't use pastes, but lots of people in Australia do. I used to make a curry with curry powder, lentils, sultanas and some apple for sweetening, maybe some potato and veggies. Served with sides such as banana slices, cucumber and yoghurt, coconut/pawpaw or mango and rice. Now I often use garlic, ginger, chilli, garam marsala, cumin seeds and what ever I have that seems to go - I'm not really an expert in such things though and occasionally also follow a recipe.

How I wish I can make curry paste. But that's the problem, I don't know how. So if I decided to cook curry dishes, I just use curry powder. I like paste better but it very difficult to find in my place and I hate to go far just to buy a few grams of curry paste. Since curry powder is easier to find and buy, even at the small shop near my house sells it, I just use curry powder.

I started using powder, now I often use spices, sometimes a mix of curry powder and other spices.
