whenever you feel so low, you feel that life has abandoned you, that life is so unfair that life is not giving you want you want... THINK AGAIN.. well at least it is giving you what you NEED. I just want to share this story of a friend of mine who had an encounter, i hope it touches your heart as it touched mine. The story goes like this: A friend of mine was not feeling well. she is having some colds and a bit of cough... she went to a drugstore to buy herself some supplements... fate stepped in. she was in line with an old man... close to tears, buying only 1 piece of medicine.. she took the courage to talk to him and asked why he is only buying a piece of medicine when he looked like he needed more than that... the old man told her that is all he could afford, he is already having a hard time buying this one but he knew he needed it so much because he could no longer pee... he has a prostate cancer and that is all he could afford. my friend close to tears herself felt so bad, she is complaining of a simple cold, could afford vitamins even and this man can't even buy himself enough medicine for a cancer... she handed over some money to the old man and asked him to buy some more of the meds. you see, if we are just sensitive enough, we'd really see that we are blessed more than others, that we are way luckier than all the others we see... if we could only see that.. if we just stop seeing how little we get out of life... instead we see how much blessings we receive, we'll never ever feel that God is abandoning us.

I agree with these. There are so many people today who complain about their lives and yet they don't think just how blessed they are. People just need to focus on positive things. Even though I know it's a bit hard to be positive all the time, it helps to think that we are far more blessed than some other people. It's just a matter of appreciation.

Hi chiyosan! That is so true! We have a lot to be thankful for, a lot more than we know of if we just take a look around. I have felt down many times and I complain why this and that is happening to me, but whenever I see someone in a much unfortunate situation, I realize I don't have the right to complain because I am in a much better position than that someone. I have lots of things to be thankful of, my home, my family, my good health, my friends, which are absent to some.

chiyosan oh my yes you are so right,I am unhappy here in this tiresome retirement center yet as you said I am getting three meals plus a snack everyday, a comfortable bed a room with air conditioning these are needs when your life was turned Topsy turvey and you were made homeless. My son still only has a part time job but he does have that, we do not have enough money yet to move back into a two bedroom apt, but we both have places to stay. we are not homeless now.so yes I do have a lot to be thankful for compared to others in much worse straits. so I am grateful indeed b ut given the money to move into a two bedroom apartment I would do so in a flash.

Thank you for sharing such a touching story. It teaches us to see things positively in all circumstances. We always look at our problem and it seems huge. However, if we compare it to others, it seems negligible at times. So we should be thankful for being healthy, happy with our love ones.

What a great story... I am glad and thankful to God that I am healthy, I still have family and home while perhaps others suffer from illness and diseases, no family, no home and starving as they have nothing to eat. Like you said whenever we feel down, we feel like want to give up and feel hurt, we should look around where there are many more out there who feel worst and suffer more than us. Still there are people out there who can't see it simply look at themselves and thought that they are great everyone should see them as examples..If only they could see more than that..

I feel sad about the old man, just like your friend I'm also like that sometimes, I always complain even the truth is what I'm complaining is not that worst to complain about. but maybe seeing some people like that that are so unfortunate make us realize that we are actually lucky, and we need to be thankful for what we have and that we are healthy and have what we need to go on with life. I like your post, makes me realize that I'm blessed.
