Ma and Pa Kettle

I love to watch old movies and some of the older sitcoms. One of my favorite movies series is that of Ma and Pa Kettle. These starred Majorie Main as Ma Kettle, who was in my opinion as funny as Lucille Ball. Ma was a very busy woman raising a house full of kids and tending to all the chores while Pa is always trying to avoid work. I can't think of a favorite episode because I love all of them. I guess the one where Pa becomes the head of a pineapple factory in Hawaii is one of the best. Did you ever watch these movies? Did you like them? Did you have a favorite Ma and Pa Kettle movie?

Hello carol. I hadn't thought about them for years. I watched Ma and pa Kettle when I was younger and it would be on TV a lot on Saturday morning. I didn't see the one about them in Hawaii. I thought they were great in the new house. I also liked them when they first appeared in "The Egg and I". Nothing seemed to fluster Ma even when pa didn't get much done. I would like to see them come back on TV.

I would too! I really enjoy them. I have some VCR tapes of them, but I would like to see some of them on television again.

Oh my goodness. I sometimes think the old black and white tv shows were just the best. Loved when Ma called em all to dinner and it seemed like kids just come out of the woodwork Kind of reminded me of my own grandma. She had 11 but only 9 lived. When I stayed in the summer with them to help out on the farm I was like the 10th kid. They never minded though an extra pair of legs and arms always seemed to help LOL Thanks for the memories. I loved Ma and Pa Kettle.

How funny, I didn't care for Ma & Pa kettle when I was a kid, but now as an adult I love em. To bad they don't come on very often. I don't think I've seen the pineapple farm, but I do remember one about the county fair, and the one where they move to town and live in a "modern" house. Maybe I'll check and see if someplace like hulu have them available to watch online. Thanks for the memories

The modern house one is one of my favorites. The county fair one is a good one too as it is the one where Pa races the horse. Too Funny!!

I don't have a favorite but it had been forever since I saw one. There is one that sticks out in my mind though and it's where a savy business man is showing Pa how to "sipher" and Pa has his own way of doing it...lol...Ma backs Pa all the way.

I remember that one too! I just love those movies! Pa is so backwoods country and doesn't have a care in the world. He could really teach us all something about life. Of course, we don't have the two Indians to do our work for us either.

They were not real people. They were fictional characters on the movie screen. They did some hilarious things and they raised several children. Their antics will keep you laughing. I am glad that you remember your grandmother fondly and you should watch some of these movies.
