It was the MONITOR all along :P

it was his fault - he kept acting crazy before my desktop went down

Hello Lotters, Now that smarts and I couldn't believe i solved it on my own. When my Desktop was running crazy I texted a friend of mine, called my brother just to let them know about my problem. my friend adviced me that she would set me a CPU based on specs but i don't have the money right, now though i could pay per month but I wasn't sure. then, my brother recommended that I should removed some devices from the Power supply. I did and still wrecked. Not until I noticed the Monitors that are acting crazy just before the whole desktop stalled. I realized that my black monitor was already causing a spike inside probably because it has damaged when ever i turn on the television. after putting my Old Big monitor again, It worked and it's now 3am again( I never learn). I'd probably put back another fan for my 500 w. power supply, though this is added question; should I put a CPU fan at the back of the PSupply when there's already a large Fan underneath, he reasoned out that the PS is not getting enough air inside that could also be causing problems. But knowing the Monitor is the true source of the problem, i decided to replace it. It's working now, I learned a new lesson tonight; Never put TV and Monitor CLose to each other I've cancel my plans to buy peripherals for my PC and instead save for buying a new. Have a nice day.

good observation knight my friend, Something similar happened to me before, the speakers were too near my monitor and it was causing black spots, went away after I placed some distance, it was the magnet in the speaker that was causing the problem.

Hello louievill,That's exactly what my brother told me this after noon when I was just texting him because he gave his view that magnets does affect the monitor. just like you mentioned the speakers were causing some black spots on my old monitor and didn't realize it can also affect the entire computer.. I was lucky enough to realize that the monitor was given by my cousin that was damage and not our large old monitor that came from my brother.

Thanks for the BR friend, oh yes another thing, consider buying an Led monitor just in case you have the budget or an LCD at least instead of the old CRT like what I had been using for years, you will observe that your electricity consumption will go down (we have 2 pcs), LED monitor is good for us and the environment since it does not contain mercury, good luck friend and let's all continue Mylotting

Hello Bhabycatch, My Central Processing Unit isn't new so I would buy an LCD Monitor that is also not brand new. I went to this local Computer Store and showed me a Monitor that cost 65 to 67$. thought that will take all of my earnings from mylot and mypage5, i think it's worth the effort knowing that it's colored black. I've been thinking about it seriously because having that can save electricity.

That is wonderful since that was all it was that needed fixed or replaced. I have had that problem before also with a monitor and when I replaced it, it fixed my computer too.

Hello Steph, All it was needed was for this thing is to be replaced. am glad it we still have the old monitor or it could have been a big problem on my part. I am thinking of buying a new one instead of staying with this big LED monitor because I know it would be cause a lot in terms of electric use.

I am glad you figured out the problem. I have never heard of it being a problem to put a TV and Monitor too close together. I have a laptop, though and I often work on my computer in bed (something they say is not good to do, but oh well.) If working on a laptop in bed it is very important to lift the laptop up off the blankets. Especially when watching videos! I keep a box in my bed to lift the laptop on. But, I'd like to get one of those lap desk deals eventually. Maybe that's what my mylot earnings can go to!

I never turn off the power. My brother told me it's not necessary to turn off the power every single time you use the computer. So I don't, because I have stuff going all the time and I don't want to lose some of my work. Some of it is savable, but some of it is not. My laptop does go into safe-mode when it is shut, though. Also, I'm wondering if the televisions of which you speak are the old ones. I have an HDTV and somehow I really doubt it has magnets in it.

Hello dismalgrin, I learned now that It was because of the Television's speakers that has magnet that is causing the problem, which i have learned now from two different people; my brother and louie. there's nothing wrong with using the laptop in your bed just make sure you put it in the table and then turn off the power

Hello Lovedude, That's what I have come to know first, but i didn't realize the problem with PC monitor and TV would occur that immediately. this time I am so blessed that every thing is now fixed compare before.

Hello Ravisivan, It is common that mobile Phone shouldn't be put near the computer because it's causing some electrical problems. but it's only recently that I've discovered that my own monitor can't stick with the Television because of it's speaker's magnets. your welcome just never let your PC monitor get close to your tv. have a nice day
