Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, believe that the Community Shield defeat will not affect the way of his team this season. However, he still asked for The Citizens learn from the defeat. Face Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday (08/07/2011), City actually had a 2-0 lead at halftime. However, they failed to defend it and conceded three goals in the second half. Mancini hopes his men can take lessons from the defeat. Italian men are not willing to Vincent Kompany et all repeating the mistakes in the more important game. "For us, it is important to understand why we lost in this game. That is not a top team played well but scored two goals need to have a strong mentality," said Mancini "If we met a team like United or Real Madrid in the Champions League, we need to understand why we must continue to play football and not like we did in the second half. We must learn from this," he said. "But, it's just one game. It is something that is normal when the game is difficult because we are not ready 100 percent," added the former coach of Inter Milan. With high targets imposed on his shoulder, Mancini believes the defeat at Wembley would not affect the way his team next season. He was still optimistic it could be a serious contender for the 'Red Devils' in the hunt for the Premier League title. "I do not think this will affect our results. It does not matter for the Premier League, FA Cup, or else," he said. "United's top squad in the Premier League. They are better than other teams. But we can be title challengers at the end of the season," added Mancini. wow..Mancini admit that MU still better than his team... What do you think guys??

I think that defeat would leave Mancini really hurting. The team was leading 2-0 at half time and had the match completely in their grasp. But the United show their usual fighting spirit and score three goals to win the cup. That was really gut wrenching for the Man City players. I actually think this might impact their morale. It would be worth watching how they cope with this. Cheers! Ram

Manchester united has really beefed up their squad this season and seems the result has started showing already. Manchester city has the money too but probably they lack the experience and maturity of Manchester united. It is going to be an interesting season. There is also Chelsea, Liverpool, arsenal, Tottenham to contend with this season as well.

I think the main problem is an unsolid team, though they can buy expensive and good quality players, they can't build a solid team yet. last night the defenders very poor in communication each other. they can be the next chelsea I guess, perhaps when they replace mancini, . .have a nice day

Mental will not be bought with that money even you had much money Maybe it's time to Own City aware of this things He will only be wasting his money for things that can not be achieved with the instant Maybe it's time to buy the right players to the exact position and do not accumulate in only one position player .. You can see in the stock of forward in city squad..They had tevez, aguerro, Adebayor, Dzeko...it`s too much i think.. ...

I think the defeat will serve them good. It shows them how it is important to keep the concentration while they are in seemingly cruising position. It will tell Mancini that despite all the investments, his team is still not quite there yet. If they can learn and I believe they will, then the defeat is a blessing in disguise.
