I'm here in the office at the back portion doing mylot and my office mate's friend keeps on calling on the company telephone. It really gets on my nerve because I have to run on the front office to check who called and it was ONLY HER! Like OH MY GOD, can't she see the point? This is an office and not a home for TALKS/non sense! I'm really mad at her..And i want her to shut the fu*k up! She calls like 5 mins then after a minute she calls again! So stupid of her!!!! I even confronted my office mate to tell her friend to stop being so annoying and she just said " DON'T BE STRESS"...Is that right? Oh please help me on this! I hate the caller! :((

Definitely it wasn't right of her to say don't be stressed! Hello!! You should have told her i'm not stressed but i'm getting stressed by the minute, so go get your own phone! Seriously, that was so unethical of her. That's a workplace not a playpen for kids to play around. Hope you're okay by now and sorry to hear you're having a rough day!

You made me laugh so hard toni, You're really entertaining! You got beautiful sense of humor(superlike) I feel better now, atleast I have mylot to burst out the negative vibes. I told my office mate to read this discussion, she's busy with facebook now..She'll read this later..lol My office mate told me that her friend is really annoying and she's used to it now. They work in a same place before.. Funny and irritating scenario was when the phone rang I answered it and the caller said "I'm so sorry, could you please gave the phone to her, this is the last time I will call" i didn't say a word then after a few minutes she calls back again! So stupid of her!

Sorry to hear that you were having problem with your officemate. I hope she will realized that she is making other people around her feeling bad (with phone calls) not to mention her rude reply. I am sure she will not like it either if same thing will be done to her. have a good day jaiho®

Hello Nurseclare, I guess it's better of recording her via webcam or something and then email the recorded video evidence that she's using the phone for personal use. sent the video to your boss and let the boss comfront the employee. But I wonder, what would happen if your boss finds out you are mylotting in the office? it could be a double karma effect there. but phone expenses are not a joke so i guess you should let the boss know

hahaahah! Hi LK, i won't do that... Anyway, the person calls the office not my office mate. We talked already and I am trying to be patient now! haha Phone calls are allowed, our office is just like a home to us. and my boss knew i was mylotting, it's fine with him as long as I ain't using facebook. he's not always in the office. He's so busy with his business. :) What irritates me is my office mate's friend. She barely understand and super annoying...:(

The second time that caller called, you should have told her to say her piece in just one calling. That way, she doesn't disturb you ,if it's not of utmost importance. better be honest than contain your anger within you.

Hahaha sorry, I'm not being rude but from a third person's view, I find this hilarious :P Well, you do have the right to be pissed off. She's not a five year old kid who can treat the phone as a toy :P If I were you, I'd let her have a taste of her own medicine. When it's her turn to do something, I'd keep bugging and bothering her :P I know it's childish but hey, there's nothing wrong in acting like a child sometimes right? As kids would say, "He/She started it!!!" No honestly now, if I was in your shoes and it's after office hours or breaks, I'd keep the received of my phone hanged up and return it after breaks or when I'm ready to go home XD

hahaha! You're so funny! Thanks for the suggestion but I couldn't do that she's my friend (my officemate). I just hope the caller will stop pissing me off..For two days now I never heard about her..I told my office mate to read this discussion for she's also a mylot member she was laughing and it seems almost all the comments are turned to be her fault..hahaha She got it right! lol

Wow!! You would think there would be Company rules within the office to help prevent personal calls and such like this that would disrupt the Business without being of importance. The person should be told that NO PERSONAL CALLS should be called in, and only in case of Emergency. Maybe it does not stress or worry the other people working there, but sounds like Rules should be inforced there somehow.

hi nurseclare probably the friend is a chat room addict and has to call and call and call t hen call some more.Your office mate is just too kind she should tell her to put a cork in it for awhile. You are all busy.the next five or six times grab the phone from your office mate, say"hi I no speaka de anglaise who you wan? habla non anglaise only Spanish si si.hasta las vista baby goo by" then hang up.I do that when telemarketers will not take no for an answer., It really does work. they always hang up.

Why is it that you are the one answering the phone? Maybe when you go answer you can tell her not to call again.

Well, that could become annoying. But I do have to say that when you are at work, you should be doing your work not MyLot. MyLot will be here when you get home. When I was wiring, I could have never got on the internet at all. It bothered me, but I went online at home. I know MyLot can be addictive, but you have to control yourself.

i think it will be better for you to address the caller since your office mate don't care.. or if there is a policy with regards to the use of your company phone you might want to review it and discuss it with your office mate..

Well confront the caller in the nice way. Maybe you can say "I'm busy at work so please stop calling" maybe it is nice. Or if not, just hang up the phone so that she can't connect into the office. And tell also your officemate that it is not good to talk personal matter in business office.

OMG!! Clare! This is so funny, I use to call you on your office phone before. Lucky you! I'm not working for the same agency now. They're the ones forcing me to call you on your OP. Now, as for your problem which is 4 weeks ago already; If she keeps on bugging you on your OP. Then the next time she calls, just answer it and pretend to be someone else... Tell her, you're NO LONGER CONNECTED! hahaha

Hi clare! With your problem, didn't you try to asked her of the reason why she is calling. Tell her that you wont call the concerned person unless she tells the matter. If the reason for her call is a personal thing, tell her "Sorry but this is a company telephone. If you need to talk to the person, I can give you his personal phone number. Would that be OK?".

You're right! I told my office mate to tell her friend to stop calling but she'll just laugh it off. She's too patient and I AM NOT.Well, the caller doesn't pay for the telephone expenses. It's her boss( my office mate and the caller works in the same company before) I'm controlling my temper so HARD NOW! It's almost a week and I'm terribly controlling my wicked little self ! :(

I so know how you feel. I got the same problem with a girl that I worked with. She just calls and calls and you would think me being quite on the phone that she would get the clue I don't want to talk. lol How bout the next time she calls just let it ring. When she ask you tell her I told you I'm tired of you playing on the phone, this is a place of business and I might not answer the phone thinking its you and it might actually be someone who need help. Tell her to GROW UP!!!!!!..lol stress has nothing to do with her ignorance ;)

you should tell the caller to stop calling during office hours 'coz there might be some important calls coming and can't connect with the line. company telephone is for company customers not for chatting with friends, your office mate should know that. both of them are really annoying.

Exactly pretiNAS, i think they know that but the caller is just hard headed and really used to annoy anyone and my office mate allows that. I don't know why she can't tell her caller to stop calling our office. I think she's enjoying it so much..Well, for two days now I never heard of them chatting..It's a good thing..lol
