Healthy lifestyle is a choice that most people wished and desired to live. It becomes a desire and a wish only because they find it hard to really live it. Food temptations abound our table and our eyes are excited to see the mouth-watering menu prepared and even just the thought of eating your favorite food makes you crave for it. Healthy lifestyle is a CHOICE one should really strive to live to avoid lifestyle-related sickness and illnesses. Can you discipline yourself in living up to your own desire and wishes of having a healthy lifestyle?

Hi janevi! I think i don't have any choice except to eat healthy. I am an average person earning an average income, so i do not go out frequently to eat on restaurants. What I cook for my meals are produced from my small garden in my backyard. When i come home from work, i dropped by a wet market and buy fresh fish and some spices, and when i got home, i will just pick some green leafy veges in the garden to garnish my fish tinola. :) Pick "kalamansi" small lemon in the backyard and make a fresh juice, cool?? Kinda healthy huh?

Yes, and as I said, i got no choice...:) But i also go eat in restaurants for a change, sometimes.

This is true.. Everyone wishes to have a healthy body. Personally, I can train myself to eat healthy foods. In fact, I do eat vegetables a lot although I don't like its taste sometimes. :D I'm eating vegetables because I know the benefits I can get from eating it. I also love to eat fish and I drink plenty of water to stay healthy. :D

Yeah.. If one desires to live healthy and longer, he/she must discipline himself/herself. He/she must choose to eat healthy foods and it's also a must to have ourselves checked by a medical professional. :D

I think a healthy lifestyle is not only about what do we eat, but of course food is a major part of it. If you will promise yourself that from now on you will eat only healthy food you will find it difficult to realize for about 3-4 weeks, but then everything comes naturally. After that, when one feels way better after eating healthy he will never ever be tempted again to eat junk food, because he managed to take it to an all new level.

Rightly said. It is not just about the food we eat but it encompasses the totality of how we live our life everyday; from attitudes, practices and values . And these take a lot of self-discipline and will power to achieve goals we set for ourselves.

Choosing a healthy lifestyle is a 360 degrees turn around to the one concern. But I think everybody don't have a choice but to stay healthy and start adapting to a healthy living. It's better to take preventive measures as early as you can since embracing medication to cure one for an illness is not an easy task. Just imagine how many medicines you need to take and how much money you have to spend just to buy it. To top it all, you can never have fun. So why wait for a disaster to come when you can do something to prevent it and enjoy life more! It's better to discipline ourselves than have full of regrets ahead? Since it will be very hard to turn back time by then. As an advocate to healthy living I encourage everyone to stay healthy as early as you can. I had that turning point to healthy living last two years and counting. Stay healthy everyone!

It is either a 360 degree turn around or just the 180 of it. One can never have that 360 turn around instantly. It takes time until one can embrace the healthy lifestyle she/he wanted to have. One can have several choices whether to stay healthy or to be in the 'danger zone'. But the choice is ours to make. Congratulations for making the choice of staying healthy. Its very true that prevention is better then cure. So while you have the capacity to control what you eat , start early until you get the habit of it. Think healthy, practice healthy habits and you'll stay healthy all the time.

Everybody both wanna live in the heathy way,but as you said due to a lot of complex factor resist it.It is hard to foster a healthy living style.I often drink a lot in the day,but i don't like to do exercise.I don't pay more attention to my menu,maybe i should correct it since now.After all,everybody both wanna live in the heathy way.

The complex factors are just there to test how disciplined are we in order to achieve the goals we have set for our selves. Healthy lifestyle does not only mean food and exercise but a way of living everyday from attitudes,practices and values.

hi janevi:) You're right that healthy living is a choice, I live a healthy life as possible, I ate everything I want to eat but in moderation, I don't really want fatty foods and junk foods so it's easy for me because I like fruits and veggies because maybe that's what my mother always prepare for us and we used to that kind of food, and in addition I also make it a point that I exercise everyday just to make my blood flowing.

Yes a choice that needs some discipline and determination. Exercise too is good combined with the discipline you have and healthy eating habits.;-)

I am going there. I started small like eating more vegetables and fruits. I also drinks more water. Cut down on my sugar intake. The results I lost more than 20 kg. I used to be 100 kg but now I am 76 kg and still going down. The only thing is I hope the weight stays away.

That's nice of you zalilame. How I wished I can do that. I have been trying to cut down my carbohydrate intake for two months now but to no avail. Every time I see the food on the table, my mind says not to eat but my hands keeps on reaching out for it. I take plenty of fruits and drink lots of water as well but my weight is still the same. :-D I'm even thinking of taking a slimming medicine to really trim down.

i agree with you when you say healthy living/lifestyle is a choice and yes its a great choice to made. me myself is now trying to discipline myself and i can that i have learned. i made a choice to stay healthy for we are taught that what we eat today will make us tomorrow.

you are right. discipline is one of the keys to achieve the choice you have made. Couple it with determination and will power, for sure you are on your way to a healthy lifestyle:-)
