Although this news is not new. Its been with us for the longest time now, but I'm still bothered at times especially with death toll rising with the incidence. I really hope that the government do something about the situation. I know that it's part of Pnoy's SONA that the government is testing a formulation to kill mosquito larvae. I just hope that they give this utmost priority. The Dengue numbers are not a joke. Its killing us, mostly children.

I agree, the rising number of Dengue cases in the NCR is quite alarming. Although I live way south in the Philippines but I am also concern too. I empathized with all the parents whose children have dengue. My eldest had dengue twice and I learned that there are 7 strains of this kind of virus so she might still get it. I just hope and pray that the cases will be contained soon and I hope that the first dengue vaccine which is undergoing its final trial will be successful so that parents can breath a sigh of relief.

dengue - fever from mosquitos
Hello Neriz, I believe proper way of disposing water left overs is another way of stopping mosquitos from multiplying. I always check those plastic plant pots to see if there's something like those mosquitos. Luckily, I've found some of them and take out the water that has dengue larvae and eggs. I believe provinces should have ways or materials that are protected themselves from dengue. most of them probably live in houses that doesn't have electric fans.

That's kinda scary. We've never experienced this disease in North America that I know of, but I've heard of it in other places around the world. I hope that something happens soon, to prevent this disease from happening anywhere.

It's honestly alarming especially for the children. When I caught dengue, I drank water. And I mean LOTS and LOTS of water! The doctor advised me that there's no medicine for dengue but it's suggested to drink loads of water and avoid dark colored foods. I hope the government would take this seriously. On the other hand, people should also do their part by cleaning and clearing out stagnant waters. Dengue is always active during rainy season.
