IN my case, after returning back to mylot,i have experienced many times that discussions do not get many responses.for me reasons may be i don't have enough friends here who are active at the moment or interest of currently active people do not match with it.so not able to get many responses to a particular discussion.what is your criteria for replying to a particular discussion?? how is your experience ? tell your views and experience.

It is important to realise that the number of responses has no effect whatsoever on what you earn. A discussion with a hundred responses is no better than one with one response if you don't post good quality replies (as comments) to the responses you get. It may be satisfying to know that many people seem to be interested in your topic but it doesn't become a discussion at all until YOU have enough interest in it and take the trouble to write good quality replies which tend to encourage further discussion. Most of your 'discussions' are not really discussions at all: many of them are "How do I ..." type questions to which, if you get good responses, there is very little scope for good quality replies. Most of your replies (when you do reply at all) are just a single line, which will not earn you anything and will not encourage people to invite or accept you as a friend. It is rightly said that your earnings are based on the quality of your participation. Participation includes everything that you do here.

Hello there, Yes I do get a lot of responses in my own started discussions. I find that unless we comment back with time a lot of members recall that we do not participate in discussions and stop responding. Therefore, it is important if responses is what you are trying to get that you too participate for two reasons. One is that most members do research information for the discussion starter and if the discussion starter does not comment they are not sure that the discussion starter read their efforts so with time they do stop responding. Secondly and most important is that if earnings is important to any members, unless the discussion starter comments back they are virtually not earning at all. Owlwings above stated it clearly where we only earn for what we type. Therefore, responding means the responder earns and not the discussion starter. The discussion starter only earns when they comment back to the responders. Best of luck and hope you continue to enjoy myLot.

Personally I have found it often depends on the type of discussion that I am starting here. I have a lot of good friends here and others who seem to be following a lot of my discussions and are interested in what I have to say, and since I am also taking time to try and respond back to the discussions that I also am starting here it helps all around.

hi vinay its not fair to ask me as I have been here so long and am retired so have oddles of time to mylot. now I get 20 to 78 responses on my discussions but I have the time advantage of other people who all must work off line. I found when really green here that the more I responded to everyone the sooner I began to get response to my own discussions. its as though coming into a new school and being the only new kid then making friends and feeling accepted. Hope you soon find your discussions starting to draw more responses.I have no criterion other than interest.if your discussion interests me I will surely post am quality response to it. good luck and God bless

I think it actually depends on what particular subject of your posted discussion. By experience if you actually post a discussion somehow related to your day to day activities in life, it usually gets a lot of responses. I don't have specific criteria when replying, as long as the topic interesting and somehow I can relate I will post a comment. Have a great day ahead!

vinay: This discussion will get more responses than what u get normally because this is a common topic in which all are interested. I get 25+ responses for topics on food, internet etc. for mylot discussions I get around 15. For other areas responses will be from 5 to 15. There are few discussions which I consider very important are not taken so by others and I get less than five responses. So far I have got responses for all my discussions. The topic should be comfortable for people to talk.

I am not really sure. I have never kept track of it. I think most of the discussions I made, got at least a few pages of responses though.

The number of responses I get from the topics I started usually depends on my topic. It does not depend on the number of friends I have here in mylot since the ones who posted were not included in my friend list, and I do not find my friends posting comments either. So, I figured it must be the topic. I have a topic in relationships (falling inlove with someone way younger or older than your age) that got me 4 pages already, and the one about internet (about getting spam messages in email) has 2 pages already. These two, among the many discussions I started, remains to be the most commented on.

I've looked at the discussions that have no responses. Usually the reason for lack of responses is 1)it is a new discussion or 2)there is nothing in the discussion to respond to. If you just tell me a fact about something there is no discussion to be had so I have no response for you. There are other discussion posts that give the author's opinion on a topic, but doesn't ask any thought provoking question about the topic for others to respond to. It also seems that there are people who start multiple discussions just for the sake of starting a discussion in an attempt to make more money. You are not going to make a ton of money on mylot. So if you are going to post do it to add something to the community, not just to try to make more money.

hello vinay! your number of friends cannot be based on how many responses you get on your discussions. it is how interesting your topic maybe. sometimes people add us as friends because they find our topics interesting or many they like what we post in discussions here. try to post topics that will attract others to respond to. there are people who have talent to write things or things themselves. i may have no talent on starting topics but then, i just respond to many topics as i can. well, there's nothing wrong with starting a topic but if you want to make more responses, why not give it interesting one...

I get responses ranging from 5 to 30s depending upon how interesting is the discussion. Till now I don't have any discussions without response. I usually starts a discussion which gives lots of scope for others to response. Usually it starts "how to...".

I am satisfied with the number of responses that I get to discussions that I have started. There are a few cases where I have gotten none but there are some where I have gotten as many as sixteen and then there are many in between. I believe that the majority of my discussions get three or four responses. Some topics appeal to some people but not others. What causes me to respond to a discussion is the topic. I have to have an interest in the topic and feel that I am able to add something to the discussion.

hi vinay:) I have topics that I get 20 or more comments but there are some that only 5 or less, maybe it depends on the topic that they like and based on their interests. but i hope that I get more than that I just need to learn more whats the good topic to post maybe.

Everybody wants to improve their position. You need not have friends for commenting. What all you need is to have the ability to draw the members towards your discussion with a strong and crisp title. It should be supported by quality stuff.

The amount of responses I get mostly depends on what my discussion is about. Sometimes I don't get that many responses (like only 5 or so) but that is when not that many people can relate to a subject (for example when I talk about a specific website that not that many people know of). I also have discussions with over 20 responses, and that's when I talk about a popular subject. Sometimes I get responses from my friend, but not necessarily.
