I've heard from the news that dengue cases there in the philippines is increasing. I also heard that there's already a dengue vaccine. This is the first time I've heard of it. I hope it will be a successful measure. Another news I've heard is that there's a blood donor scanned with HIV? Scanning Blood donors is very crucial.

Really there is vaccine for dengue already? That's great! Dengue is really rampant nowadays. It lasts year long actually, and its peak is during the wet season. Having rains nonstop two or three months ago, it is not surprising at all that dengue outbreak is the next problem the nation must face. The growing number of reported cases is very alarming. That's REPORTED cases that come from public hospitals... so the ones being treated in private hospitals is not yet reflected. So imagine how huge the number must be. And it's not just in one area, it's all over the country. Very sad. It is always said that prevention is better than cure. So by all means, all of us must take precaution. Apply insect repellent generously. Get rid of stagnant water in your backyard. Keep a clean environment. Avoid wearing color blue clothing (it attracts mosquitios). Use citronella scent deodorizer, or better yet, have a citronella plant in your house. Spray insecticide if needed so to get rid of the mosquitos. Let your children bring insect repellent in school because most cases, they get dengue in schools.

Really? Hospitals are out of blood bags? It's good that Kapuso network and Mel Tiangco did a Blood Donation program. Helping one another is very crucial now.

This is really alarming. I've heard this outbreak in the northern part of our country. Regarding blood scanning, I am sure the Red Cross is giving proper care and attention when it comes to this. have a great weekend jaiho®

The rise of dengue cases here in the Philippines maybe attributed to these factors: overpopulation, changing climate and poor hygiene and sanitary measures that is why mosquitos now reproducing very fast. I really hope that there will be vaccine for dengue for us to stop this mini epidemic.
