Jaiho's Bad Day....so bad...my email password again was compromised !

I was not able to logged out from all my sites including email account when the transformer in our area, particularly the one that suppl electric power in our block blasts and was on fire last night.
And since my internet connection cannot perform any service without electric power, I was automatically disconnected from all sites.
Fine, power restored around 3pm, but I decided to finish laundry first since I will be busy tomorrow (Sunday and I can't do it either on Monday - our long awaited concert, and I will be busy with the preparation)
I logged in around 6pm and first thing I did is open mylot and while waiting for the page to load, I also open another tab to logged in to my email.
But..goodness it says that my password is not valid and after 3 times it says that my password is compromised (again, this is the second time for this email- so i just changed my password a month I guess)
So, I was advised to reset ...but goodness, it keep saying my password (old one) is not valid.
I need my email- I have my work/s, sites on that email...I need it badly.
I've followed every instruction given...reset and asks Yahoo HELP...but still no avail..
I just need my email.............HELP!!!
Note: dear mylotters- I am NOT leaving mylot, I only need to have a break writing Poems/s...

What is it with all this tfouble?
I mean really.
Get a laptop, then this won't happen.
I hate when people take advantage of such situations.
You have to log out everyday, though.
I know you couldn't, but that is normally what those idiots wait for.

dear saphy,
I am using my laptop dear and no ones uses my laptop aside from my kids, esp my youngest son who doesn't want to use his brother's pc.
I don't know what this keeps happening...and is really giving me trouble and also a panic feeling.

It is really very disturbing that you email password got mixed up and you just could not log in. I know it is very cumbersome on Yahoo to reset our password. Once I also forgot my password and it took me half an hour to reset the password. They (Yahoo) just drive us crazy.. Please keep your cool and do not lose your patience, when you have time, sit there with peaceful mind and reset your password, if you have not done so far. My best wishes are with you.

It was good that you could reset your password and this saved you from crying.

Oh that's bad sis, hope everything is fine now.Try to add a security question which nobody else have the answer and link your email id with another email id,I have linked my gmail id with yahoo so whatever emails i get on gmail , its automatically forwarded to yahoo id and i rarely give people my yahoo id as its my personal and secure id.There is forward option in setting my friend told me and its been 3 year since i linked both email now if somehow my gmail password is compromised i atleast have all emails on yahoo.

Ever tried using password with symbols? I think it's not forbidden in the email. i thought i could do that with mylot but i guess they didn't want symbols either.my advice on this matter, make a new email account and slowly replaced all of your emails in your online sites, if you got paid that is.
I wish i can help more, but i am not programmer.

No, I haven't tried using with symbols since I am use to writing down my password when it comes to email.
I only use password with symbols with my work/job official email which we are using in our company (call center) and i don't want to ramble it with my online/sites email.
Anyway, I am glad I had it back after re=trying and keep answering the security question which I perfectly answered. (duh)

That is quite sad. I have had to close down my Yahoo account a few months back as they never could resore my password or even get me change it. I think there is some problem with the Yahoo Mail and that is why it almost frequently comes up with "compromised" error and on many occasions fails to correct it.
I would recommend you switch to GMail that also allows you to GTalk.

In such cases I use to answer questions like what is your birth day, and give date of birth and also alternative email id. Then they will send password and they will ask us to reset the password. pl,. try. u would have got it by now.

This is really troublesome, who is doing this to you my sis-jaiho, now am really bothered by it. Just make a new email account separate for your earning sites. best not to mention it to any one of us for your protection too.

hi jaiho thats really thepits not to be able to use your password, did you not havt your browser save the passwords for you as I ha ve no problem as my firefox browser has saved my password on all myaccounts. I have five different email accounts one for mylot alolne and one for geneaology.

Oh dear, I never saved my password in my browser.
This is the first time that it happens to me after many years of using my emails.
I will have it changed constantly then, to avoid any compromised.

hi sis. so has your email back to normal now? were you able to login back to yahoo?
i remember in my first year here on mylot, my yahoo mail also got blocked and i suspected, i was hacked. i was not able to retrieve my account so i ended to open a new one.

Gosh! I encountered the same issue. I was not active in using my email for almost a month due to some much important activities and when i tried to open it i was shocked because i can no longer access my account. At first i thought it's just the same issue(i have to retype my password for 4 times before it work then ask me to change my password.I didn't bother changing it). But, last week was different! I did all to access my account,ask yahoo help,read forums and etc. but to no avail. They didn't even bother me sending replies to my complaint using my other account. Tsk! What's happening???
I have paid surveys there and other online jobs. Now, it's all gone! 2 years ago my paypal account(same email) was frozen and now my yahoo mail. If you have any solution would you mind message me? I am so desperate and i want my email back.

Hello simonlee,
My friend suggested that I have to delete the old account and create a new one.
Or keep changing your password every week if possible.
I did changed my account.
I open my sites first and changed my email address there using the new account that I opened and deleted the old one.
Now,I keep changing my password to avoid same issue again.
I know this take us time to keep changing our password.
What I did is, I have 3 password that I use to change my email password every week or every other 2 weeks.
