getting your discussion into mylot digest

i am thinking of what is the criteria so that a discussion is posted in mylot digest i use to see my discussions posted there, but not anymore. sometimes i get as high as 28 responses, yet it is not posted there. i guess there has to be something missing that i am not doing. do i need to make a comment as soon as a reply is posted? ann

The digest is personalized for every member, and depends of your interests. It gives 10 discussions which received the higher number of responses in 10 different interests. If your discussion with 28 responses was not in your digest, it is possibly 1) because you started in an interest not in your chosen interests, or 2) because another discussion in the same interest had more than 28 responses, or 3) because your discussion was tagged "mature content" : I think mature discussions don't appear in the digest.

hello topffer, you said it gives 10 discussion. i didnt know mylot gives discussions. i thought we choose our own discussions. does it mean i have to open "home" and not go directly posting discussions? can you please explain some more? where can i find these 10 discussions and interests? ann

Topffer is correct but maybe I can explain it in another way. Each DIgest that a Lotter receives contains 10 topics. Each of these topics is in an interest that you have added. Therefore you will see 10 topics from 10 different interests. Those topics that make the Digest are the ones with the most activity (not necessarily the most responses) posted in the previous 24 hours.

If you go to the 'hot topics' here: http://www.mylot.com/w/hottopics/1.aspx you will see pages and pages of recently started discussions. Those will be onthe Digest tomorrow. There will be one for each of 10 interests that you have added and they will be the discussions which, in the last 24 hours, have received the most activity in the form of responses and comments. If you want to see your topics there then you should be available after you post them to comment immediately to anyone who leaves a response. If you leave a comment which furthers the topic then the users will probabloy come back and comment again and if you are successful in getting a back and forth exchange going then your discussion will appear first in the 'hot topics' and then possiblyon the Digest.

I have been here for many years and I am Still amazed when my posts make the digest. I have made it with just one response ! I assume it was well written and it must have that extra something. But this is just a guess.

hi sarah, i didnt understand it at first because my previous discussions makes it there. and i find that nice. after topffer and mysdi explained, that is the only time i knew it. guess i lack reading the extra somethings in here. thanks for your response. ann

Hi Ann, I do not know what the criteria for selection in the digest is, but I have only seen one of my discussions in there in all the time I have been here. I do not open that email anymore though as I have enough trouble keeping up with friends discussions, so I may have been featured more than that.

hello tiger aunt, NAH! i don't care, as long as there is soome one that would be kind enough to respond to my discussions and that's all that matters to me.I comment on every response in my dicussion because i only earned when i comment and respond as far as I know. that's your choice if you want to comment on your response, that's actually how i wanted others to see me as active here. have a nice day

I honestly believe that the digest is different for each member of mylot based on the interests that you have on the site. When I started a lot of discussions, it was really common for me to have discussions that would turn up in the digest. However, I don't have the time now to start as many discussions as I used to start and because of that I hardly ever see the discussions that I've started in the digest. That is okay, though, because I still tend to get great responses to my discussions.
