I'm having a problem responding !

I have not been on My Lot for nearly two years. This is because I have been working and a whole lot of other isuues. I always loved mY lOt.
Anyway, today I had some spare time, so decided to try out My Lot.
I wanted to respond to some of my friends discusions first.
Two out of three attempts have been a failure.
I get an error message that says I can't do that.. something about gateway.
I'm wondering if it is this computer im using, which is at work, or if there is a temporary issue at My Lot.
The problem occurs when I click send response.
I tried copying and pasting, but of course, with me considered a new user, I can't copy/ paste. So my respones have been wasted.

Hi, friend. I think it is because of the computer you are using. I have not had that particular problem at all. I have another friend who has had her MyLotting blocked at work recently. Welcome back. Tell us more about what is going on with you.

I remember you well and I am so pleased that my friends have replied so quickly to a boring discussion.
I use the work server, and yes, there are "blocks', some of which I know how to overcome. It seems to be posting okay today.
I have lots of news, but may wait until my internet connection is up at home, plus I want to do some reponses to my friends discussions.

Your problem seems like one of those communication problem with myLot server where our postings either does not get posted or seems to be lost to a "sulking" server.
The difference being that the latter has our posts successfully posted and you can find them in either the "discussions responded" or "discussions started" tab.
As for the inability to "copy & paste" I believe you will need to bring this up with the admin because this is quite new to me which I've yet to encounter it.

Yes, the sulking server makes sense. I use the server at my work and it is not that fast.
I believe the copy/paste issue has always been there for new users. I seem to remember having to do 500 posts before copy/paste was allowed. I can understand this. My Lot want to assure that only genuine posters are here. As I have not been active for a long time, I am considred new.
It's just a nuisance though. I would only copy/paste when a response I do does not go through.

Hi Jennyb.
Good to hear from you again. Sorry you spend so much time in vain responding.
I had problems with loggin in. Money making sites just popped up one after another when I tried to get here by pressing "respond to this discussion".
I finally got access by using the web address. Must be a tech problem.

Hmm, I don't like the idea of money making sites popping up! I haven't had htat because I have a popup blocker on.

So did I, jennyb. I´m always using a pop-up blocker.
The sites really looked as if they belonged to mylot.
They offered things like making money with mysteryshopping, etc. And they had the mylot logo on each page.
I haven´t been here for a while so maybe a change has taken place that i didn´t know of.

Thanks Ray, I missed you too. I don't know how much time I will get to be on My lot.
I'm waiting to get my new internet connection up at home, which will give me a fast service.
At the moment I'm working full time.
Why are an 8? You always write such good discussions.

Bianca is doing very well. In yr 13 at high school, then uni next yr.
she works part time as as a swimming instructor, and loves her horse!

was it nearly two years? wow! welcome back. i dont think it is mylot blocking or else your discussion will not get posted. i do sometimes get that gateway error. it is probably the internet signal in your place. just keep trying, and everything will be fine.

Hi ann, yes it would be nearly two years since I have been here. My work computer is the server nad it is slow. I have to admit that today it is posting my replies to responses fine.

I have been myLotting now for a few hours and have not had any issues, so I am wondering if it is a temporary internet connection issue on your end. You say you can't copy paste and something has to be wrong as any member who had 500 or more can copy/paste. I see you have 6839 so unsure why you were not able to copy paste. This might also be part of your connection issue. I would probably say that maybe log out and log back in and see if this clears the issue for you.

I would agree that the problem seems to be at my end. I use the server at work , and it is a bit slow, plus thye have restrictions.
I assumed that because I had not been on My lot for so long, that i was being treated as a new member, thus the 500 posts issue before I can copy/paste.

It started working fine this morning, but just then I did one reply to a response, and bingo.. same problem.. I know it must have something to do with the server I use being slow, and the work probably blocking some sites.

sounds like your work has mylot blocked.that's usually what a gateway is.
forum type scripts are blocked by a lot of softwares because of people that abuse it at work.(or i should say,bosses that think their employees are)

Welcome back! I was wondering what happened to you. I think the last time we heard from you, you were having trouble with your soon to be ex. I hope everything worked out okay. Anyway, back to your problem. At first I thought maybe it had something to do with your being gone, but after reading some of the responses, I agree that it seems to be the computer you are using.

Yes, I had lots of problems with my ex, but most are resolved now, via lawyers and the courts. I will start some discussions about that later. I would rather reply to some of my friends discussions first.
I agrree that the problem must be at my end. I use the server and it is slow, and they block certain sites. I haven't had any problems today relying to reponses.

I'm sorry for your absence here in mylot, you have responded a lot. I wonder if you feel sad about your earnings because 6 months of not checking here in mylot all your earnings will turn back to zero. I hope you can contact the mylot admin regrading this one because honestly i don't know, I've been her for 3 months now..God that you're back.Happy mylotting..

My Job i couldnt get on either but when i went to my home computer it worked fine. some jobs dont allow certain sites to work id ask your supervisor!

But you are correct, a lot of work sites ban some web sites, like facebook, which I can't access at work.
