We will never know...

Life is too precious and we'll never know when it would end. Two years ago my husband was with a group of friends who went out of town with their bikes. Every Sunday they had a ride, visiting places out of town! All of them had complete safety gears, helmet and all. Nobody was allowed to go with them without a complete safety gear. One Sunday however, one of them had an accident, fell off his bike and hit his head on the pavement. His helmet cracked, he stood up as if nothing happened. He continued with the ride. Everybody advised him to go to the hospital and had his head checked for any internal damage, just to be sure. A few days after, we met him in our son's school and he was doing okay. My husband introduced him to me and told me he was the one who had an accident. His son was my son's classmate in pre-school then. Husband asked him if he visited his doctor and he said no because he's doing fine anyway. A week after, he died. His wife was in Canada and his son was only 6 years old then.

Oh my~ I don't want to say that he should and he should not as things already happened...but I agree with you we will never know the future and effects for what we have done.

And we need to be more cautious for the sake of the people who love us, if not for our own selves.

We can't predict what will happen in the near future. One regular customer to my job also die of an accident a few months ago. She was driving home while there were thunderstorm. A tree trunk fell over her car, and she was die instantly. How sad, isn't it?

That is very sad, and it probably could have been avoided if he had taken his friends' advice and gone to get himself checked out. Head injuries are very dangerous, and sometimes they do not have any symptoms, such as headache or confusion, even though there could be very serious damage. Other times, the symptoms come on so suddenly that there is not enough time to seek medical treatment before they can become deadly.

That's why we must be careful of the life that has been given to us. It's just borrowed.

It's better to go to the doctor in order to be examined after having such an accident. The head is a very important part our body and any hurt or hit could be dangerous. Sad news.

he might had internal bleeding, I think when that kind of accident happened it's better to go to the doctor for check-up, because they might can't tell from the outside that he's hurt but what if the damage is in the inside, just like what happened to your friend. I felt sad for his wife and son.

I remember a similar but a more fortunate incident with my father. I came home one afternoon from school and saw that my father's face was a little swelly. I knew something was wrong. He then told me that he hit his head on a concrete when his motorbike fell on its side. He was making a turn on a banked driveway of a gasoline station when the wheels slipped and both of him and the motorcycle fell. He was quite alright after that coz he made it home. But the neighbors did notice his face was quite different (after all, there were blood in his shirt) and my dad told them what happened. He then washed his face in our kitchen sink and when he did that, blood came pouring out from his nose. My aunt said that it was a good thing that the blood came out otherwise it would form a clot inside his head. Thankfully though, he didn't faint from too much blood loss. I was really worried and cried myself to sleep that night. He didn't have it checked by a doctor but THANK GOD nothing worse happened to him. He's still alive today. THANK GOD.

I never won't allow my husband not to go to a doctor, if ever he will have an accident like that or something that could have involved a body part to be hit. Call me a paranoid or a hypochondriac, but even this simple dizziness i am feeling since yesterday caused me to have a BP taken. My BP was alright , so i was thinking it could be that my cholesterol went up or my blood sugar might be up too. I bought a pint of pineapple juice because i know it lowers cholesterol and also took a cholesterol lowering pill last night. Then, this afternoon, i am scheduled to be seen by a doctor who could refer me to have a laboratory exams taken. That way, i can prevent whatever may be bugging me. Our life is precious so we should take good care of it in any way we can.

Maybe his wife has that guilt feeling too. if only she were here, she would have forced her to go to the doctor as well.

Yes it is sad that we don;t know when we will be gone. That is why, while we are living, we should live out our lives to the fullest so that there will be no regret for us when we know that our time is near. Also we should see to it that we should always follow God while we are living.

Yes that is so true. WE should live each day like it is our last.
