Hair today, gone 5 months ago hahaha

About 5 months ago I turned 40 and had a drastic haircut, boy you should have seen the looks on people's faces hahaha. My hair was a fair length, straight and thick and then I had it cut really short. I have a bit of a dilema now though. I have a photo session booked in September (a birthday gift from a friend) but my hair looks a mess because the original style is growing out. I want to grow my hair again but feel I have to have it cut for the photo!!
What would you do? Have you ever been in a simular situation?

No, i haven't. I keep my hair short all the time. If u are wanting it to grow i'm sure it can be fixed to be attractive for your photo.

Yeah short hair sure is less hassle isn't it? Trouble is that I have rather a round face and not sure short hair really suits me. My family were really gutted when I cut all my hair off but I as I was turning 40 I didn't want to leave the 30's kicking and screaming more like with a big bang and so I had a mowhawk hahaha

I guess if you wanted it long again for the pictures, you could have extensions put in, if you can afford them. If the Sept. photo date is towards the end of the month, you could get your hair trimmed. Or you could change the date of the photo session if you are able. Good luck.

As the photo session was given to me as a gift for my 40th birthday I wanted to have it in the year that I turned 40 and wished that I had, had it taken earlier in the year when I celebrated my birthday so now I don't have time for it to really grow much and I don't like the idea of extensions, I have heard that it really wrecks your hair but it was a really good idea, thanks.

Well they only suggestion would be to have your hair styled for that day, by a hair stylist. They can usually make your hair look great. Good luck to you.

well if you like it short and in that style i guess you should just go ahead and do it again and any other time it gets raggedy
i call it raggedy when it gets at that stage, nothing can be done with it and you need it cut.

Unless you want to consider wigs, then I suggest a little trim so it wouldn't be a mess. And you shouldn't mind it being short, as it commemorates you're being 40. After a few years, you could look back at the photo, and would always remember your year 40 as the time of the drastic haircut and the short hair.

Yes I think you are most certainly right. I am not sure if I want to have it cut as I did in March when I celebrated my birthday or have a different style though. I have booked a hair appointment and might just decide when I get there. hahaha

I have not cut my hair in a very long time and it is long and thick as you had before. For the upcoming photo session, maybe get a new style and trim. This way it is not so short again and still able to allow it grow, unless of course you liked it short, then I would day to cut it again.
With time it will grow again.

Well I kinda like it short because it is quick to wash, dry and my pillow is dry in the morning after my evening shower but I do miss doing different styles with my long hair. I think I might just get it cut one more time for the photo and then try and grow it again but then it is going to look a mess come Christmas time, oh I dunno hahaha
