Hi fellow myLotters, I've just been wondering, how does your discussions get to "today's top" here on myLot? In other words, what qualifies a discussion as "today's top"? Also, are their any benefits for your discussion being in "today's top" on mylot?

The only benefits I can think of is perhaps the happy feeling of having the topic listed there. Nothing as far as earnings and or rankings just for being there, unless of course the member is active/participating and or rated by others. As for what gets them there is hard for me to say as I think it depends on number of, and I think, responses at some time of the day. Reason why I am just guessing is that I have not seen anything in the guidelines and or FAQ that can substantiate what makes them there and or in the hot topic tab. *unsure*

That is why I decided to start a discussion about it, because I didn't see anything about it in the FAQ or guidelines.

This has been discussed before and apparently there is absolutely no discernible logic behind it. It is one of those strange mylot algorithms that we are not supposed to talk about or understand. I'm sure if we study it hard enough, we can find the meaning of life!

There are often discussions there with only 3 or 4 responses. It could just be Alex picking numbers for next Saturday's football matches!

Hmm... I was thinking that the "today's top" may be to showcase the discussions with the most activity. Perhaps if you are on the first page of the "today's top" then your discussion will get noticed more, and you will receive more response?

Write something very opinionated and you will get a flood of people either agreeing with you or going off on how wrong you are because they just feel the need to say something when they don't have to.

Hello Angelee, I don't know, my usual instincts tells me that TOP is topics with lots of discussions, but that's the HOT ones (not mean perverted) but that depends on how you the topic is made. even though i have so many topics in me, i couldn't make a proper post. in my view, there isn't much to see. as long as thre is some one responding to your dsicussion.
