Greetings all, Since last few years I have been having a terrible issue with dandruff. I have tried different shampoos to get rid of it. Tried applying eggs, coconut oil, etc. but in vain. What I have noticed is instead its just growing more and more. I really need to know how I can cure this dandruff and feel good when wearing black clothes. Any suggestion will be really appreciated.

Hi, Try the Clear anti-dandruff shampoo from Hindustan Unilever or try Nizoral as advised above. Both will work to get rid of dandruff. You can also buy Oriflame White nettle and papaya shampoo for getting rid of your stubborn dandruff. It is made of natural ingredients and is extremely useful against dandruff. It also gives the hair a lovely shine.Drinking 10 to 12 glasses of water daily is also essential.Hope this helps.

Oriflame is generally available all over India. You have to contact your nearest sales representative to get the product.I would advise the usage of this shampoo over Nizoral as Nizoral is a medicated shampoo which will make your hair rough. But if it is not available then you have to use Nizoral.Have a nice day.

Thank you, it does help. :) I liked the Oriflame White Nettle / Papaya Shampoo. Am not sure if that's available here. If not then will buy Nizoral. Thank you for your suggestion. Appreciate that.

Oh okay. Does AMWAY provide Oriflame? It will be easier to find one if they do. If not then will use Nizoral twice a week and wait for the results. Thanks for replying Oindy. :)

You need to use shampoo with zinc. The best on the market is Nizoral. I hope you will find it in your country. That was the best cure for me. I got rid off dandruff and felt finally ok. Few weeks ago again I had this problem but I started use Head and sholders Itchy scalp. And it also helped.

Oh great. Yes Nizrol is available in India. But do you have to use it daily? If not then can you use regular shampoo in between? Can you please suggest. :) Thanks for replying koperty3.

I do see different brands of shampoo in the stores. They all say that they can stop dandruff problem. If that's not working for you, it would be a good idea I think to consult your doctor. He might have some good suggestions or he might direct you to some specialist too.

Thank you replying greenline. Yeah That's on my agenda but only if Nizoral fails to help me. Will give Nizoral a chance before consulting a doctor. Cheers.

Use a clear shampoo instead since it leaves less residue. Try drying your hair first before going out. Especially if you are going to commute, you will encounter a lot of dirt. Also try massaging you scalp using your fingers not your hair. You can try Nizoral anti dandruff shampoo as well if the dandruff is really severe.

Thank you Chiwasaki. That's what am going to try. Will try to find if I can get Oriflame if not will buy Nizoral. And thank you for the tip. I usually take a shower after working out at Gym and then go out. Will wait for some time at Gym and then will leave. Thanks. :)

Hi crazyabs, I suggest you try Nizoral or Head and Shoulders first. However in cases that it does not work, you may need a stronger medication for it. I have dandruff too. And I use Clear shampoo everyday. A couple of months ago, I had terrible itchy and flaky dandruff. Bathing with anti-dandruff shampoos weren't enough. Salicylic soap did help alleviate the itchiness although not for the entire day. So I went to a dermatologist about my dandruff. She told me that my dandruff were due to genetics and it will never go away, but there was a way for me to control it. She prescribed me a with a Betamethasone scalp solution. This was the only thing that I found effective on me. If in case your dandruff is as grave is mine, try to look for Betnovate scalp application as this is the next best thing compared to what I am using. Please take note that this is only used under worst circumstances (e.g you can't stand its itchiness). And it's always best to go to a dermatologist first before taking in other medications.

Thank you haopee. I used to get the itchiness but not frequent. It is like couple of times in a month. Normally its only the flakes on my clothes that am worried about. But it seems to be only increasing. Also increasing the frequency of itchiness gradually. For now am going to start with Nizoral and drinking water more frequent. If that does not help will definitely consult a dermatologist to find a permanent fix. Appreciate you taking out time and responding my discussion.

If you are using shampoo, I prefer you to choose Head and Shoulder. It is the best shampoo for dandruff. If you are scratching hair because of dandruff you may appy lemon juice and massage and rinse with water. You must have to drink a lot of water.

Thanks hafiz for replying. Yeah I do drink a lot of water. And yes I will surely apply the lemon juice method. However, do you know how frequent you should do that?
