Free Coffee

(Hey bubblews admins, told ya there is no plagiarism) One of the privileges of my company is that the employees have free coffee and it's really essential for employees who works in the graveyard shift.I'm not really a coffee drinker but sometimes I need to drink coffee because I'm so sleepy and I need to stay awake at night. Basically we have a water dispenser with hot water on it The security guard refill it every 2 hours. . Then there are the three canisters, there's a canister of coffee, cream powder and sugar. I don't know but the people in this office are addicted to the cream powder. Instead of serving themselves coffee with cream, they make cream with a dash of coffee. As in the beverages in their cups are pale as the wrestler wrestler known as Sheamus, whenever I make myself coffee, I always end up with black coffee, there is always shortage of cream in the office. I'm not really a fan of black coffee but there's nothing I can do. I really don't know why those people are putting so much cream on their mugs. They were not the only employees in the office when needs coffee at night. I also always end up with bitter coffee because the people in the office might have ambition to have diabetes because they also put too much sugar on your coffee and I also end up sipping sugar free coffee ,enduring the bitterness because people are putting so much sugar on their coffee.

I have a suggestion to your problem. Actually that has been our problem too until someone came up with this solution. Before, our creamers are bought in bulk, meaning big sachets but instead of saving, the company ended buying more since there are employees who use more cream and less coffee as what you stated. So what they did is still bought creamer but those packed in small sachets and only give an employee a sachet or two if he or she wants coffee. Employees can still use more cream and less coffee but it not going to be more than two sachets per cup.

I wish the management Oakland center that idea because even the managers runs out of sugar and cream. Last week the ceo of that company tries to have coffee for herself and she is not able to have cream because people are making gravy out of it. I will try to have the nuts to suggest that the management because I'm so sick of not having cream

My suggestion makes more sense since what is happening now in your work environment is more like "first come, gets all" kind of system. Which doesn't work well if you do shifting schedules. There will always be greedy people no matter what. So good luck.

Oh that is just unfortunate for you. I love my coffee really strong with lots of creamer. Just gives it the toffee candy taste. But, I also like black coffee. Sometimes even without sugar. You're fortunate. I have two jobs and neither of them give out free coffee.

I saw one woman, using five Scopes of cream, three spoons of sugar on a teaspoon of coffee. I always end up with bitter black and coffee because people are over using the sugar and cream. I know I can buy my own cream and sugar but im too thrifty.

That is a most unusual proportion, I'd say. Does she even taste the coffee in it? Maybe you should tell her the creamer and sugar will make her fat. Just kidding. But, yeah, that is annoying especially when the extra cream and sugar would have been used by somebody else. Well, that free coffee is part of your perks in that office, and you're not getting what's yours because somebody else beats you to it.

they were not making coffee, they were making whip cream, all they need is a cake. I will try that tactic to her. I'm sure she loves her figure.

I have not worked in a company with a graveyard shift. The three companies I have worked with are operating on a normal working hours and the people consume coffee I think as much as those who are on a graveyard shift. I'm in the accounting department and they ask me to approve fund for the coffee. I have noticed that people consume creamer way lot than necessary I wonder how many spoonfuls of creamer they put in a cup.

It's really crazy that the book so much cream and sugar to their coffee. They have no consideration. They're not the only employees in the office that needs coffee with cream and sugar. They were putting too much cream until it looks like a pancake batter.

Good rant. You have to be near the canisters when they are refilled. I believe it depends of the place you live. In this part of my country, people don't put cream in their coffee, and drink it black or with milk. I never saw cream offered in a company. Shortage of sugar can happen, and I hate to drink coffee without sugar.

At least, coffee plays its role and you don't fall asleep near your cup of syrup.

I'm always fair when I use the cream and sugar, I will try to go to the canisters as early as possible before people make "hollandaise sauce" and afredo sauce out of the creamer.

I regularly end up with dairy free and sugar free black coffee, they were like making custard out of it because their cream with coffee is kind of thick and syrupy.

It's great that your company is providing free coffee to its employee. This is good benefit so that the employee can enjoy the coffee whenever they need it. The company that I am working in is also providing free coffee. It's sad to learn that some of your co-workers are not considerate and used up the cream and caused other people couldn't find enough cream for their own coffee. Usually people take free supply of things for granted and over consume it. Fortunately, the cream and sugar are abundant and we never face the shortage of it. Hope the condition will improve sooner or later. Have a nice day!

Hi, CaptAlbertWhisker. That is really wonderful that your company offers their employees free coffee. Coffee is much needed when you are working a graveyard shift. If sugar free coffee works better for you, then enjoy it as much as you can.

Maybe your office mates don't have a creamer in their house and that's the only time that they can have a taste of it! They are just so inconsiderate about the other people in the office and just minding themselves and wanted to take advantage of the free stuffs! They are not just in your office, they are everywhere I guess... In my work place before, whenever we have a meeting, the company also provides free coffee, and just like in your place, many took advantage on it. Even if the stuffs are in sachets, many people in there get a lot of extra and put it in their bag! haha I don't know if they are just coffee addicts or just that they are not able to buy coffee in their house.

lol! I think it really happens anywhere, not only in offices. I remember one time that there's an occasion held in our place and since its morning there's coffee of course, I am really surprised how the visitors consume the creamer and the sugar that fast while the coffee is not! And when I look in their cups, I thought they are drinking milk! Then I saw one that put I think 2 tbsp of creamer...and I told her, hey that's not milk! I don't know if I were to laugh but I also feel irritated to think that its not cheap to buy a creamer...

I heard some major changes might happen in the office, the ceo might consider free the red bull's instead of coffee with cream. I saw some good suggestions in this discussion on how to solve the cream problems, and so far the suggestions are good. Home so your visitors are also making pancake mixes out of the creamer. lol

People have the mentality of having a shopping spree of free stuff. It can only it's kind of pathetic on their part. their like a bunch of PG'S.You know at first I thought I'm the only person this situation and it's really amazing that it actually happens in offices around the world. It's like a viral infection in the offices. If you will see the coffee in the mugs of the people here, it's really pale and thick because they'd put too much cream.

My best advice is to bring your own to work then you can pick what kind that you like. People use up stuff all the time and don't think of others. I prefer coolattas.

I think when turn to the free stuff, we like to cosume more than we needed. You can suggest the people who in charge of the sugar and cream to bring more of them. If this is not impossible, they can put a not on someplace to indicate that not to put too much sugar and cream, because those thing are limited in supply and using too much brings no good for the health.

I understand what you say... We also had the same problem when I worked before. We solved the problem out by just putting instant coffee sachets at the coffee stand. After sometime, that too did not work, because some employees take home coffee sachets and they bring home not only one but as much as they can take. Even if the guard is there, some just find a way to sneak and get from there. Then we decided to change the system and rented a coffee vendo for the company. THe vendo makes the coffee and with a push of a button, the coffee is ready, with cream and sugar. BEcause it is automatic and already sugared, nobody complained, they don't have a choice but be used to what is there.

I think it's one of the best ideas by far, it will be much more fair and balanced for everybody. With that type of idea everyone is going to have cream on their coffee.I almost considered the sachet a idea brilliant but yet people might take them home. That might be much more the worst. Maybe as you suggested makes sure everyone will have equal amounts of everything. That will be a good solution to the cream problems in this office. If it sounds like communism but the cream democracy is really unfair.
