Do you loose cents for mispelling of words in the responses we type to question?

I was wondering for a long time now if we loose money for misspelled words in responses or in our questions? We would never know but do you think about when you type 20 responses and you get like .72 cents and I try to correct all my mistakes in spelling of my words but I know I miss some... just wondering does anyone know? Thanks Unique16

This is something with all honesty anyone can answer as we do not have any idea what the algorithm is. Though myLot asks for quality and English language not sure how anyone can actually tell if they loose earnings for misspellings, since we are not sure if all correct how much exactly one earns. I am sure that if quality is there one earns more but how much is unknown.

Definitely true. We do not know how much we earn, whether it is by post or word or key stroke. I doubt that there is much manual checking for typos, so they would only find as many as software could determine. I do think what we earn needs to be quality and complete sentences.

hello GardenGerty, I was hoping people here at Mylot would say that. I was just wondering or if anyone else pose this question long ago to the staff etc.. I do spell check but sometimes when you get interrupted you have send your message or loose it. I know the computer I use now has a time out issue if leave for 15 minutes it freezes etc... and you loose all your work etc... Thanks and have a great and safe weekend in spite of Hurricane Irene. I don't really think so that we lose some cents for misspelling on mylot... the posts that we post on mylot must be understood by other people on mylot... Misspelling will occur if we keep on posting comments and when our hands and fingers gets tired we start to commit typing mistakes.....

hello mtrunkwala, Love your id name here at mylot. Yes, fingers do get tired. I do try to spell check before I post each comment. But there are times when I get interrupted and I have to send the reply or loose for good. Sometimes they are long replies. I cannot ever repeat the same reply twice because my brain cannot remember what I typed in before. Also I answer differently all the time. Have a great and safe weekend in spite of Hurricane Irene. I would not know. However, my browser does spell check, so I do not have misspellings. I may have punctuation or grammar errors, though. I think with the site being open to people who are not native English speakers it would not penalize those errors. However, their may be some people who will down rate you for spelling, punctuation and grammar. That is not officially MyLot, but might be a personal thing.A lower rating affects your earning. If I was going to mark anyone down it would be people who post in text speak.

hello GardenGerty, I agree with you about grammar errors. I do think software does take this into account and how long your responses are too. I feel for the people are from a different country do these responses because they know there language but not English as good as they should. I give them a lot credit doing Mylot and getting there answers out there for us. Thanks Unique16

No, I don't think you lose money for that. But there is one common misspelled word I see often. Loose and lose. You lose money. But your clothes are loose. Loose and lose are commonly misused here. But it doesn't matter too much. I reread my posts to see if anything is misspelled simply because I want to make sure I am as clear as possible. PS Did you put "loose cents" as an example of what you meant?

I have been here for years and I honestly have no idea about that. I do not earn .72 for 20 responses though. I do know that much. I earn about 1 cent per response and that is the most.

Hello stephcjh, Oh! I was wondering yesterday about this thought old timer here would know. Well I hope as time goes on you will be earning more cents for your posts. I do my best to make them at 3 sentences long or longer. I do not know if it is .1 cent for each line and not based how many words... another question to be posted here. Thanks for the reply. Have a great weekend and safe one in spite of Hurricane Irene. Sincerely unique16

even i would wonder at times that whether it really happens or not. if we are sure of this might be we will be a little bit careful next time. but how much is expected when you write uncountable responses and still you have not been paid?? i would really love to have friends throw some light to this matter if anyone is aware of. thanks sayo13
