like a lost sheep..

sheep - little lost sheep

Rather interesting name for a discussion given that the company I work for is actually called Blacksheep haha! .. but I have been a little lost sheep today. This week in work has been very busy. I haven’t stopped yacking to people on the phone, typing, filling in purchase order forms, emailing quotes, and redirecting sales calls. Friday is usually our busiest day, but for some reason, our busiest day hit us on Wednesday. Why, is still unknown to me. Nothing was on time, no customers were happy, and I slowly lost the will to live, to the point that by 3.30, which is my tea break time, I wanted to walk outside and get hit by a well-endowed bus! But then came “our busiest day” .. Friday. And nothing. Dead as hector. Not a sinner in, not a phone call worth mentioning. No invoices to key onto the system. Hardly any purchase orders, and none that needed that much care and attention anyway! and the vast majority of our work force decided to work out of the office today, leaving me very alone. I usually have to schedule my lunch hour, around everyone else, so that someone can man the phones in my absence.. well that wasn’t an issue today, there was no one here, so they could have rang off the hook for all I cared. And my 3.30 tea break time? Well that was up to me to take. I had no authority to answer to, no one to double check with, and as I trudged on outside for a well deserved smoke, I thought, I could really get used to this. But it was not to last, because here we are at almost 4pm, and everyone is now back in, milling around as if they day has only just begun, despite myself counting down the ridiculous 60 minutes until I am allowed to leave! A working week.. isn’t really what its cracked up to be is it?

Well .. while almost al day today you were your own boss, you have missed to do some good and bad things ... Among the bad you missed - and thank God you missed - was to get angry on yourself and put yourself to clean the office AFTER everybody go home at 17:00 ... .. bad is you missed, as your own boss, to raise your own salary, to give yourself a reward, to fire those you do not like .. and eventually decide to have TWO tea breaks every day ..

@chicksdigscars You are lucky. You got 3 times break. My boss only allows one break for me that is in the afternoon 1pm-2pm. Other than that, I work like crazy mad cow in that office.

Not clean the air, clean the office: windows washing, vacuuming the floor and stuff.

This is usually a day in an office. It is not normal for me. If I were in this kind of office, many times I had resigned because I am tied up in certain times and I don't like it. I love freedom, I rather choose a telemarketing job which gives flexibility in puntuality as long as you make sales.

whoa...wow! That's great. My boss do allows me going home sooner than later but it depends on her mood that day also.

telemarketing is good.. i did it for awhile. it's hard to get your sales at the start, but once you get into the swing of it it's great. i used to get all my sales done in 2 hours, and could go home, but still got paid for the whole day :)

Sometimes those days that are busy when they normally aren't really throw you! The day doesn't go as planned and it makes you feel odd - especially when it is only half way through the week! Lol Hopefully back to normal next week for you

Ah. I work at home so every day is the same basically. I start my work around 8 and finish around 10 pm. No boss, I smoke when I want. But the thing is that I work more than ever before even on Saturdays and Sundays. But its fine. So after busy Wednesday you have less busy Friday. That's really good because we can't work in stress all the time. I hope after 60 minutes you will be free to do whatever you like to do. In England Monday is bank holiday. I'm wondering is the same in place where you live. If yes I wish you nice bank holiday day. If not I still wish you all the best!

aww you work from home? lucky you. it is my dream to work from home! if only i could find something to work from home doing haha! what is it you do if you don't mind me asking? it is a bank holiday on monday, but as the name stresses, only for banks, and other businesses that choose to have it off. our work doesn't lol.. we can actually get a lot of work done on a bank holiday with other places being closed and the roads not being as busy.. aww well, maybe we will get out early lol!

Also we and my partner created forum with list of bad companies which don' pay other people for job they done. So I do many things :)
