I have to wonder after reading an article on how a housing worker actually killed a mouse measuring 3 feet! I am really wondering how in the world did these rats actually grow to become this size and letting my imagination free, I could not help thinking if they (rodents) will get any bigger than this. I hate to imagine some horrifying sci-fi coming to life and bring out some disproportionate plague or epidemic. Just hope this will be a mere nightmare. What do you think? Three feet long including tail! Well in Britain, there is a rodent that is three feet long NOT including the tail! I forget what they are called, but I remember reading that there was a colony of them near Kings Langley in Hertfordshire. These oversize mice are apparently quite timid creatures and no threat to humans.

petersum, Although, I do not see them attacking humans literally but I believe they do carry a load of diseases with them. So, I still would want them in check and it is amazing just how big they can become of late. Also, when I was visiting Sri Lanka a few years ago, I recalled an incident where a rat actually bit one of my staff's mother whilst she was asleep in her bedroom. And, this staff actually told me that it was quite common in that part of the country. So, I would not be surprise that these rodents would eventually be taking a bite on humans one day. For me, I am just concern with the developments here.

I am terrified of rats. On the farm there were rats that lived in the bush where the bananas were but I never got used to them. My home was rat proof. I would be sure to have a heart attack if I saw even one of these rats up close. Social creatures I do not care about that - I would want them exterminated! Think of the diseases that they may carry? this so disgusting. Once an economy breaks down health care is one of the first things to be affected then education.

cynthiann, I totally agree with you on the disease carrier these rodents posed and it is quite serious. However, I am quite concern how they can actually grow to such a size and I am wondering if this has anything to do with some bio-chemicals leaking into their nests. I may be far fetched here, but who knows it just might be real, with the way we are abusing these bio-hazard materials and its disposal. I am really concern and hope that the relevant health authorities would look into it before it gets out of control.

Maybe they have a secret lab underneath your floor. Maybe they're experimenting on creating super rats in order for their job to turn out much easier than it is. And also, to combat other rodents that get in their way.
