do you think you are "in" when you have the latest songs in your music player?

What do you think? are you pressured to always get the latest songs, or download the latest top 10 or 20 billboard songs? do you think its quite important to have a new song on your playlist? hehe as for me, i would mostly have the songs i love, i love to sing along with, and songs i enjoy hearing, or dancing to.. not necessarily new ones or the latest. im surprised i have music that was way back in the 80's! whoops!! :D he he

I felt left out when I was in the 5th and 6th grade when everyone else was listening to rap and r&b, I wasn't allowed to. So when the kids would talk about this song and that artist, I just sat back. Soon, I began listening to the music too and I felt like I finally was part of what everyone was talking about. I wouldn't say I felt pressured, but I just wanted to talk about what my friends talked about. But as the years passed, I started listening to other music until I got into rock in high school, when the majority of the people were still into rap and r&b. By then though, I didn't care anymore and I made some friends so liked rock, so I no longer felt felt out. And now, I don't even listen to American music anymore. I listen to Japanese and Korean pop and pop-rock. I admit, I feel a little left out, but personally I think these modern American songs sound awful (both the music and the lyrics), so I don't think I'm missing out on anything ^_^

I keep myself updated with the latest releases especially the songs that made it to the billboard charts but I would only download or keep those I enjoy and love listening to. No pressures at all. :))

it pays to have some really nice and new songs, when your friends sing them, you can sing along with them. haha just recently though it seemed as though i haven't been in tune with the radio and i surely do not know any new songs =( glad to have you in the topic discussion. and thank you for sharing these with us. :D

Hi chiyosan! I'm not into getting in the hype when it comes to songs. Whatever songs I like, I download. It doesn't matter if it's the song that's popular nowadays or not. It doesn't matter if it's a new song or an old song. Actually, lately, I'm late in discovering songs that have been popular during the time of its release. Don't worry, you are not alone. I also have songs from the 80's. I love a lot of them especially love songs like Lost in Your Eyes, Could've Been, Superwoman, Alone, It Must Have Been Love, Weak, All This Time, and a lot more.

i can agree to this, so long as you love the songs in your playlist... there should be no feelings of you wanting to be "in" afterall, it is only you that has access to your phone. =)

No, I don't feel pressurised to get the latest songs, etc. I will only listen to songs that I like. I hardly purchase CDs and I normally don't download songs from the web, cos I normally listen to songs on radio (incl. satellite radio).
