Fix It, or change it?

Do you take the trouble to fix a broken electronic appliance, or you just throw the old one in the trash can and buy a new one?

I am not very good at fixing things especially electronics; however if some of my friends or family can fix it I will give it to them, if they cannot fix, i supose i will have to buy a new one. Although at the moment I couldnt afford to buy anything, so hopefully nothing breaks!

Yeah I hear ya, I'm pretty good at fixing electronics and other thing as well, so it's interesting for me to know, is there many other people fixing instead of throwing. Thanks for sharing.

Depends on the type of electronics! If it is made of different parts (for example a computer) it is much cheaper to fix it, otherwise (such as mobile phone), it is not. I recall that I dropped my phone to water and the cost of fixing it was almost the same as a new phone because they had to change the main electronics board. Fixing LCD/LED TV can be expensive too, because the labor is not cheap even if the spare parts are affordable. There is no rule for it.
