i may just be watching too much daytime television (steve wilkos and maury lol) but i keep wondering that. like what if somebody was really nervous and it affected the results? i don't know, i just keep seeing so many people on these shows who swear they are innocent but the results say they are lying...i sometimes i feel like if i took one, i would fail it too because my nerves would be too worked up

Yes.i watch this show where they always tell the disclaimer that the lie detector is not always 100% accurate.Just because it's a lie detector test does not mean it can't make mistakes.I mean it is still just a program that might know it all but doesn't.

yeah i don't think the people who administor lie detector tests realize that they could be potentially ruining the lives of the guests on the show if the tests results are wrong, which apparently they are alot of the time

Yes it is possible. Lie detector results are not accurate. It checks our pulse rate and consider many other factors. Eve your dreams and thoughts can change the fate of your results. It all depends on the situation and person. For example , if you are a very good yoga expert, you can maintain same posture even when you lie. Expertise the art of lying is not a big issue.

I think that some people know what to do to help them pass the lie detector test even when their truth is a lie. i wouldn't be any good at that, but some people have learned how to fool the system to their advantage.
