President Obama Has Tour Buses Flown to Stump Speeches

United States
August 30, 2011 1:08pm CST
President Obama has been touring all over the midwest these past few weeks, giving speeches to crowds of fans, anxious to hear what’s next on his agenda. Boasting bulletproof windows, five inch thick doors, and it’s own oxygen supply, the President has made the rounds for these speeches in a multi-million dollar bus, dubbed “The Beast” by it’s critics. There’s been no shortage of opinions from people and pundits on this bus and how having the President tour around the Midwest in a caravan of cars and seated on a tour bus sends the message that he is on the campaign trail and using taxpayer dollars to do it. It appears however, that this might not be the case. According to some sources he hasn’t really been riding these buses much at all. They say, he’s been flying them. Apparently President Obama only rode the buses for a couple of miles at a time, spending the rest of the time flying from community to community in Air Force One. What’s more, the buses were flown from stop to stop as well. It’s normal practice for the President’s entire motorcade to be loaded up on cargo planes and flown from destination to destination. The buses were just a new part of that motorcade. But why wouldn’t the presidential limousine have sufficed? Or one of the other armored vehicles that routinely travel with the President? Apparently because the President wanted the imagery of a bus. And buses are what he got. http://visiontoamerica.org/3656/president-obama-has-tour-buses-flown-to-stump-speeches/ Once again this is the president who campaigned on transparency it duping the American people. Now this is his latest scam. Trying to appear as a regular approachable president when again he is showing his disdain by not really making a bus tour but does not have the guts to be honest and let everyone know he is too good to suffer the indignity of riding a bus. What a phony!!!! What is your opinion on this scam.

My opinion on the scam and "scum" is that he is just that. He is not the president, but a criminal of the highest caliber. "The Beast" is appropos of who he is and whom he serves - pure evil in word, thought, and deed.

Thank you for always bringing truth to light in your discussions. Now if only the foolish among us would understand the truth and the gravity of the situation.

President Obama has to go by what the security feels is safest for him. With all the terrorists and such they have to be careful not to let anything happen to him. He is number one on all fronts. There is even supposed to be a underground bunder some place where the president will go if there is a national emergency.

Yes and that is why he he had a specially equipped bus built in Canada for multi million dollars. Boasting bulletproof windows, five inch thick doors, and it’s own oxygen supply, the President has made the rounds for these speeches in a multi-million dollar bus, dubbed “The Beast” by it’s critics. Not even was the bus built in the US to help the economy then he does even ride the super safety equipped bus. So I really do not think safety is the excuse.

No, it many not be. It would have to have all the bells and whistles and be totally up to date for a president to ride in it.

A scam is exactly what it is, just for show and nothing else. When he does things like this, does he really think the American people are going to trust him? I wonder how he is planning on being elected again... next year ought to be very interesting.

I am afraid that there are still many ignorant people who are blind to his faults. At least when the intelligent Americans lose everything because of this presidential crook-in-chief Obama fans will go down with the rest of us.

To an Australian, this is all a bit ridiculous, and would get a lot of negative publicity here if our PM carried on like this. I understand the much greater need for security for the US President, with bullet proof glass, etc. But to fake a bus trip, then load the bus on a plane, is a huge waste of money and gives out a message that is probably not what Obama intended!

Canadians were thrilled to hear that President Obama is touring the US in a Canadian made Armoured Bus. We don't blame him for riding in a Canadian Bus because these buses are only made in Canada. There is nothing undignified about riding in this Bus. Anytime the smell of America gets to him he can always switch on the Canadian Air Conditioner.

I am pretty sure it would have thrilled the Canadians even more if he had actually toured in the Armored Bus but as stated in my discussion topic he only rode in the bus for a few miles just to snow the public. Then he and the bus flew the rest of the way. As I said what a scam!

He really thinks we are stupid, doesn't he? I think he's going to get a rude surprise in November of 2012. I heard something on the radio today that didn't surprise me but made me wonder...August 29 of LAST year he told Brian Williams he would present a plan to increase jobs when he returned from his summer vacation. Does anyone remember what it was?! And before he went on vacation earlier this money he also promised to tell us his jobs plan when he returned. I wonder how many of these statements have been uttered and nothing done? As for the buses, someone in Congress should draft a lawsuit to recover our money from Obama. He used all that money without our consent, as surely as if he'd broken into our homes and stole it. Then expects us to say how great it is that he's trying to find out Americans' opinions. Hogwash.

I think the buses are superfluous, for the first thing. Secondly, if he is going to ride in a plane he needs to be photographed in a plane. I come from a small town nearby an area that depends highly on the aircraft industry, and he continues to blast the use of private planes. He refuses to visit the community and does everything he can to undermine this industry in the US. Get off the bus, fly the plane, and promote America instead of yourself Mr. O.

Well as for the motorcade and having gotten close enough I would say the president is hardly ever in the limo why it would be the natural target. And as for flying Air Force One every where well that is already covered and is an USAF Plane that he has command over. The bus having top of the line protection well he is the president and like him or not he requires that kind of protection for a just in case as he may only be in them for a short while that short time could be all it takes for someone to try something on the president. He has about as many enemies as this country has Rockets for a whole number of reasons. From something the USA did a long long time ago to something recent like the Libyan War that we where just involved in. Like it or not that bus needs that level of protection. The Bus thing was most likely him following the Palin and other political candidates thing doing the Bus tour. Now if he is campaigning and lets face it every president during their first term is doing nothing but. That is how the USA politics work out. Hence why I am for single six year terms. Well I guess a Bus tour might be a risk that the Secret Service might not be willing to allow. I know that when he was in my city that he either didn't leave with the motorcade or he was in another vehicle besides the limo. The Secret Service can make many calls that the President will often follow because he knows what their job is which is to protect him and a Bus could pose a threat especially since the Midwest and this Bus wouldn't be hard for someone to miss while Air Force One is a top of the line Aircraft with counter measures as well as fighter plane escort.

Even after Reagan was shot, he did not go out and get an armoured Bus to ride around in...much less two. The Kennedys who knew the world was out to kill them did not do such, and they were Democrats. Just who the hell does this man think he is...the messiah? He flies from point A to point B as do his buses. Then he gets on "a" bus and rides for an hour or so and then back on the plane. He claims that he is out "Learning what the public needs" BULL He is campaigning at the taxpayers expense. The buses are a campaign expense too. Stop being blinded by this lying jerk.

Ah, American tax dollars at work. For every bus his administration bought and then upgraded with bullet-resistant windows (there's no such thing as "bulletproof" so why do we keep using that word?) and the other technological upgrades, some Americans got to keep their jobs. Then he's flying them round creating even more jobs in aviation, airports and logistics. If his political team was any good they could have spun this in a positive light like that. Of course it's rubbish. Sure, we can't expect a President to sit in Washington all the time, but certainly he could have come up with better excuses to get around politically important states than just giving vague speeches about how we need to create more jobs.

Unfortunately it was not American who got to keep the jobs and the buses were built and any up grades were performed in Canada by Canadians. So that particular light did not appear to be positive.

I was really upset when I heard this on the radio today. That he was using the expensive buses instead of his normal presidential vehicles was bad enough, but to hear that he barely used them and then had them flown around on the taxpayer dollars left me seething. He is out there telling us how we need to have our taxes raised and how we need to sacrifice, and this is how he spends our money. There is no accountability in his spending, and then he tries to snow the man on the street by pretending he's just one of them, riding by bus to connect with them and learn what they think. I doubt if he's ready to hear what they really think. When they take a bus, it's an entirely different experience, and they may not even be able to get a seat.
