2011/2012 year hockey season opening with last place

OK, i am worried a lot right now.
Last 3 days my son with his U-12 age team spent in a 6 teams tournament which is like a opening for new ice hockey season in my country. What makes me worry is that his team lost all 5 games and thus earned last place.
At the end of the last year my sons team was in pretty good shape and was between the first 5 teams out of more than 10 in all country. Now in this tournament they lost 3 games against teams which was defeated last year. So, situation gets worse.
My son team started to train on ice after summer holidays about 3 weeks ago and as i found out while talking with opponent teams parents they had ice practices at the summer too, so maybe that's why they have better results now.
I hope everything will be alright again and i will be able to see at least some victories from my son ice hockey team.

Can you take the coach aside and tell them that they need summer practices like the other teams? I hope the team can get it all together and make it this season.

Well i can understand that everyone deserve at least one month as vacation especially at summer season, so coach is not an exception.
Also the whole ice hall was out of ice for summer period, so thats not depending on coach only.

Bummer!! I guess they will have to be Cinderella and beat them regardless of the lack of practice! wish them luck for me.

oh, me too. btw. there just started U-12 Latvia championship 2011 and they lost first game again. :( Ok, result was 2:2 until third period and only then opponent team was lucky to score 3 more goals.
They played a little bit better. Next game will be after 2 days and i hope to see them winning at last!
