This incident happened in Korea, it's a very controversial use item in a career right now and it's caught on tape. I don't know if this happens inside a bus An old Korean couple notice of an African-American guy standing inside the bus. Being hospitable, the old couple tried to be nice to the American guy by offering him a seat, they speak no English so they tried talking to him in Korean(some old people are losing logic you know, its part of aging) the oldman said " Niga Yuh gi anja" that Korean phrase means "You can sit here" He misheard the Korean word "Niga" into the racist N-word. He he attacked the old couple specially the old lady. He didn't know that he is being videotaped. To think of it, he is an English teacher. source: youtube.com/watch?v=I2wQiPcuZI4

So where's that black guy now? I wonder why the people around didn't do anything to stop him from harassing the couple, well maybe he's too big too handle. Is he an English teacher in Korea? or just an english teacher who happens to be in vacation in Korea?

I haven't found any updates up to this moment but it's currently a huge issue in Korea at this moment. according to some details he was there in Korea to teach English. So yes he works there as an English teacher. If he can hurt an old couple, he might be able to her kids too. I want be shocked if he will give supported back to the USA

To think of that it's part of his training before he passed becoming a teacher. This guy might be drunk or something.

I think as a revenge, his face should be posted in places with the story of what he did.

When traveling to a foreign country there can sometimes me a language barrier. I am British and I have experienced that in Bulgaria. It was lovely of the Korean couple on the bus to say "You can sit here". It was awful the African American man thought he heard the racist N-word. It is interesting that this experience was videotaped. I was traveling on a ferry in Sydney, Australia. I sat at the front next to an old lady looking at the view. Two men stood in front of us so the lady tapped one of them with her rolled up newspaper. She rudely asked them to move and they did. So we got our spectacular view back. The lady at the booking office could only say "bed" so I had to book one of those from Bulgaria to Romania for a day journey. It had come overnight from Istanbul.

Staying calm and collected no matter what the situation is really a essential if we are traveling in a foreign country. Because sometimes misunderstandings may happen but handling situations with class will make things much more better. It's better to avoid drama. He should have stayed calm for sure. To think of that it's part of his training before he passed becoming a teacher. Those guys were perfect example of a gentleman says they manage to stay civil tool that old lady. Though I was annoyed to the person who videotaped this, he is able to expose that man, that classless violent man to the world.

hello, Really? Ohh my god! Since I cant open the video let me just comment my opinion about this. LOL Seriously, as a stranger you should understand people attitude in one place. Since the old couple(Korean) just want to offer for good but in the end if make them bad. And the worst point here is why he should attacked the couple? I dont think he is a real teacher at all.

I experienced racism before but I handled it in a very civilized way. I know it's a misunderstanding and he thought the couple are being racist even though they were not but he should have have stayed calm. He is in a foreign country. He should have been more respectful. I really wonder how did he passed to be a teacher in Korea with that attitude.

that is just crazy, attacking old people. the old couple talked to him in korean, check, but they might have gestured for him to sit as well, since it was obvious that the english teacher wasn't korean. even if the couple didn't, what he did was just wrong.

From what I know, foreign English teachers in Korea actually knows some have so it's very basic Korean. I found out that you word "niga" means "you". So it's a very basic and he should have known that term to begin with.

when people dont speak the same language these things tend to occur. if they spoke the same language none of it would have happened. it is a simple case of misunderstanding.

A simple case of misunderstanding that have gone wrong to the worst situation beyond repair. The people around the bus disgust me because they just let him hurt I'm old lady who is basically one of their own countrymen. They let him hurt her in their own soil. also no one tried to calm him down. They just watched.

I learned two things - learn the local language and do not beat an old couple - it's a bad action no matter where you are in the world. I understand that the black guy thought the word was racist but if he was educated enough and cared enough to study Korean (he was in the place, after all), he might not have gotten offended easily. Also, if he really doesn't understand a word, he should have kept in temper in check (it's an old couple and a foreign place) and just read the body language. I cannot see any redeeming factor for him, no matter how hard I try to understand. I won't call names but it's a poor kind of feedback for the hospitality that the old couple gave him.

I just found out that this guy is that in Korea to pursue a career in teaching. Just imagine him being surrounded by kids and one child used as far as I which disagree in word the word niga which is a Korean word for "you". As far as I know he is supposed to have knowledge with basic in Korean language.

Wow that is shocking indeed. Who was the English teacher? or rather which of them, I assume it was the African-American, but I don't think English teachers dress like that. That was a really strange incident, I am really hoping for follow up information, about the man after knowing what the couple were actually doing.

The guy in below is that the English teacher, yes he is that guy who attacked an elderly woman inside a bus in her own country. It's a shame that he is an English teacher in Korea, he shall have known some basics in Korean.
