We Filipinos celebrate long christmas and we usually start it as BER months starts. I am one of the few excited this 1st of September. As early as now, I prepare gifts for my friends, family and relatives. Some stuffs are cheaper this month than on December. And I don't want to cram buying because I end up just picking anything. If I prepare gifts this early, I can think what to give to each specific person and I'll know that they will like them. I would like to greet you all Happy 1st day of September!

Hello! Yes Filipinos start Christmas early, as early as September. From now on we can already hear Christmas songs in the radio and many places. When I hear Christmas songs i felt so excited and fell the presence of giving and joy. We know that Filipino people love to celebrate Christmas because this is the joyous day of a Filipino, the giving, eating midnight with our family this celebrates mean a lot to us.

Thank you for the wishes. We are not going to give gifts anymore. Toys are so expensive and kids get done with them in like 10 minutes. Everyone seems to buy at spur of the moment and don't really seem to get a right gift so we are just doing Gift Cards from now on. That way they can go shopping and do what they want with the money. Make it easier on us. My hubby and I are taking a cruise the second week in December so that is our Xmas gift. Other than that all I pretty much buy is my candle tarts, cross stitch, and books I like to read oh and lotions and stuff from Victorias Secrets or Bath and Body. So Christmas will be easy on me this year. Let us know if you make any gifts so we know what you are doing.

Hello there sister. :) My family gives a little of our stuff during christmas like not so old clothes, some toys and sometimes blankets. We also add a little grocery even it is just a pack of coffee and sugar. I teach in our sunday kid school. I donate some books for the childrens. I give toys only to the little ones ages 5years old and below. Ohh, I don't have much to give but my friends and other relatives gives me some stuffs because I know that I am always giving not only during christmas but also when I know someone is in need. I would like to give cross stitch cards this christmas courtesy of you. :) I like that you will be on cruise this Christmas! Tell me more about it. How many days and your destinations. I like reading a lot too! :) As of now, I am doing beading, perfume, fabric softeners, dishwashing liquids, beaded wallets.

Merry Christmas! I didn't know anyone but me started this early. I am making a gift and I have bought a few. I order most of my stuff and it can't be delivered when the snow starts so I start early. Another reason is to spread the cost out over a few months instead of paying huge bills all at once.

You can save up buying earlier and think how many times if the gift you are buying will really like by the person you are giving it

It's still August 31 here, but I will wish you Happy 1st Day of September. I'm not a grinch, but there are no more children in the family, and the adults have stopped buying each other presents. We prefer to give that money we would have spent on the poorand just enjoy being together on Christmas now. If my own children were still living, we'd probably still be giving them presents as our parents did us, but now I like to give to children who have no one else to give them gifts. So although we celebrate Christmas, we no longer pay attention to the material aspects of it. It's a lot less stressful. Of course, if you have family near you and children, all those preparations can be a joy. I remember my children helping me make Teddy Bear breads to give our neighbors and friends at Christmas time, and how much fun it was to buy presents for my children.

Hello there, bagarad. Your children are not living? I don't understand it much. There is a joyous feeling around come BER months. I like that you make Teddy bear bread or cookies. :) If I have a small oven, I also like to make cookies. I have a food business so that makes me a person who is always in the kitchen. Thaks for wishing me a Happy sepember 1st

Oh my God! You are into the Christmas spirit allready! That is crazy! I have a big problem trying to get even into the Christmas spirit! Sometimes I wish there was not a Christams holiday! I've had alot of bad Christmases! Christmas has become so commericalized and it gets worse every year! I am sorry I feel like this but I don't get into Christmas like you and others do!

I am making a lot of homemade gifts as well and will be staring my shopping. Money has been tight, but I have been putting aside my money I make online as well as my spare change. Now I am back in school I will be dedicating my Fridays to working on my crafts and Saturdays and Sundays to remodeling the house. I love this time of the year.

That is so true as i have discussed it here as well a week before September started. On the first day of September my husband greeted me first. It was our tradition that whoever greets the person first Merry Christmas on that day will receive a present from the other. So my husband expects a good Christmas present from me.

Hi bluespy! I remember last year I was so excited for this Ber months. I don't feel it yet as I'm cramming for my school deadlines. But yes! Pinoy Christmas really do start in September, Unang Hirit even featured how to make homemade ham this morning. There was one super excited person who even posted a greeting at Facebook yesterday. lol How I wish I can start with Christmas shopping because like you I don't want to cram. But I'm still tight with money (that's why I'm working hard here at myLot) so shopping will have to come much much later. Ah, I wish some money will come to me before December!
