surekha: I am a teacher myself. So I consider this 5th September as a memorable day. You were also a teacher. Hence for you also this day is important. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was an eminent scholar. He was extremely good in English and Philosophy. Happy Vinayaka chathurthi day for you and all your family members.

Hi surekha, Teachers have an important role in every one’s life. As I am staying away from native I don’t have any chance to meet my teachers here. My celebration is related with my kid’s teachers now. Elder son is planning to make a handy card for his teacher (as she prefers handmade cards), he draws well so he can make it his own. Today I got a sms from my elder son’s school, the school will over at 11.20 am on teacher’s day. The younger one’s school, (4 years old) they send a note, to dress up the child like a teacher on 5th then send him to school. I hope you are eagerly waiting to celebrate the day with your students. Happy Teacher's Day to you.

I meant that only dear and I think every body (all) were a student once in their life. My son is with me dear, his school sent the sms, now they developed a habit of sending sms to mothers of their students when they want to convey something. Actually my son informed me about this already. In addition, the school also send information through SMS.

Hello, tell how can a shop keeper celebrate teacher's day. I only remember on this day to this great president of our country and a scholar person. My wife was in private school. She in now in govt school. It is funny thing that owner of private school charged refreshment charges from teachers to celebrate teacher's day. It is respect of teachers in this country.

Hi surekharathiji I have spent the last 17 years of my career as a trainer and teacher. I am so much in love with this profession that even today, when I am always at home, I do take some tutions just because I think this is one of the noble proffessions. My students have been quite loving and affectionate and have always remembered me on this day for Teachers. I was surprised last time when an ex-student now in California, came with his wife to me and asked me to train her in Oracle because he had studied Oracle from me and got the break at the California firm. The feeling was quite something that only a teacher can experience. I am sure many of your students would make this day special for you And yes, Happy Teachers Day dear friend.

When you mentioned Teacher's Day, it just reminds me that many parents give gifts to the teachers so that they may be kind to their chidren. So every year it can be a pressure to many parents. I am not going to give anything to my child's teachers. Since I don't know how to do it secrely:) Just it is just another day for me. I love China

Hello my dear friend. Yes it is a very special and memorable day. Teachers are very important and outside of the students placing praise for their wonderful efforts our teachers do not get much in respect for their efforts. I do value out teachers as they are the ones molding our children for their educational futures. Happy early teachers day to you.

I am really not aware on what day is the TEacher's day in my country and i would appreciate it if someone remembers me on that special day. But i really don't care much about that particular day. The night before last night i received a long distance call from a student whom i haven't seen for three years already. It was enough that he still remembered me and wanted to know what's going on in my life now. The mere fact that he still longs to keep in touch makes me feel better as a teacher.

yea sure i will. i have gotten all my presents wrapped nicely and concealed in a box as a surprise for my teachers. teachers play an important role in the upbringing of us students. without teachers, new knowledge cannot be transferred from them to us. They have more knowledge about the world as compared to us. With their continuous support and encouragement, our future would be a much brighter one!

I was a preschool teacher last year and I must say that I miss being one. We celebrate Teachers' Day here in the Philippines at different dates. I'm just happy whenever it's Teachers' Day because even that I'm on leave right, I feel like I'm still part of the celebration. I'm proud to be one and will ever be! ;) By the way, Happy Teachers' Day to you, surekha!

In China Teacher Day is Semptember 10th.In this day,in the morning ,a lot of kids go to school whth flowers holding in their hands. When I am young, I used to believe that teachering is a divine job,the teachers are all heroes, best of the best .When I grow up,I found this is not always true.Actually, there are good teachers and bad teachers. The bad techer do kids a lot of harm.

hi,surekharathi, thesids. September 10th actually isn't any famous one's birthday in our country.Choose this kind of a day, only because in that day the kids' new term have just began. It does't has any connection with Confucius or others. But your India is different, are you ? In today's China, teacher is a lucrative job, most important,it's a steady job, also has some social status.especially in big city, the teachers' salary is handsome. When many young people graduated from school, teacher is one of their favorite jobs, the other is civil service . The rich, the powerful, the well connected family's kids have a better chance to get the job.So they are not necessarily the best and appropriate people for the teaching.
