Articles, articles, articles!

I really need to sit down and do some research. I like writing articles that are health related and include recipes, and I also like doing reviews. I don't earn much from them, but I do earn a small amount of spending money each month. I do enjoy writing these articles, however, I'd like to find out how to make more money with my writing. I want to write an article that will earn me at least $100 a month. I know there are people that make a living only by writing online. I don't necessarily want to do that, as I like having the security of a full-time job with benefits and guaranteed pay. Still, it would be really nice to learn how to write "better" articles, or articles that earn more money. I like writing for Factoidz and Associated Content/Yahoo! Contributor Network. I have no desire to write for Demand Studios, Triond, Helium, etc... Has anyone gone from writing one type of article that didn't earn a great deal to writing higher earning articles and making significantly more money online? Please share some details. I know SEO is very important as well as the popularity of the topic. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Two tips: one article will never earn $100 a month and revenue share won't bring in $100 a month unless you have (literally) hundreds/thousands of popular articles out there. For that kind of money, you'll either have to have a huge number of articles, own a successful blog/site or write on demand. Ideally, of course, you'd either have your own site where the articles earn or you'll find an employer who wants a few good articles a month for their site (on your subject) and has regular enough work that you can work a few hours and earn what you need.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. Even when I don't write any articles I still earn, so it's always nice to get that pocket change for doing nothing month to month... I am not sure how to go about blogging. I assume you need a niche and to promote a lot, and it must be a bit different for writing like sites such as YCN and Factoidz. Do you knwo anything about starting blogs or would it be a waste of time?

Oops, typo in 3rd para: "build a LOT of blog" - "blogs" should be plural.

I love writing as well. I have tried triond and got absolutely no where on that site as well as i tried bukisa and helium and got absolutely no where on those sites so i dont recommend trying those ones at all. Now you like writing on associated content and i love that site so much. Lately they have been doing questionarres on you and things about you and when you fill that out its been giving me more assignments and then from those assignments i can find what they are looking for and write something on my own without claming that assignment. That does help and i hope that it will help for you as well. I would like to have alot of articles and slideshows on there that in one month i can at least make 10 dollars just from my views but i know it takes alot of time to do that because i would need more than the 101 i have on there now. I do use craigslist to promote my articles that i have written about in different towns and cities like the evernt calendars that they have i write about and what is going on with there cities and towns and then i also can promote alot of my articles and slideshows on twitter and twitter does help alot and you get followers and then they view all your stuff fromt time to time as well and that again does get you more page views. Im making right now about 2.50 per month on page views so hopefully i gave you some input and goodluck.

Thanks, that's a great suggestion to see what the assignments are and not necessarily claim them but just get ideas from it... Right now I earn an average of about $10-$12 a month on Associated Content, but I would like to earn at least $50 to $100 a month. It would mean writing more articles, but I want to write more quality articles that will get more views rather than writing 5 articles a day. Thanks for your input and suggestions! Best wishes.
