Don't people know how to read?

I cannot tell you how tired I am of reading other Mylotter's problems here on Mylot. And 99.9% of the time it is because they either have not read the guidelines or are just mad that they got caught and were deleted. Why can't people grow up? Enjoy Mylot and go by the rules they have set down for us. The 24th item down on the Don'ts section of the guidelines it states that we are not to start a discussion about our problems with Mylot. Why would a person want to embarrass themselves like that to begin with? Have you actually taken the time to read the guidelines? Both Do's and Don'ts? The link is offered below. Your comments please. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

I haven't either. Had one discussion deleted and that was my own fault. If you word things a certain way you get it posted and not deleted. People just don't use common sense.

Well. I was one of those annoying newbies once. And I was guilty of complaining by using a discussion. I was upset and didn't understand. Have learned to be more careful about what I say now whether it is true or not, cause it doesn't matter, it doesn't pay in the long run. In the end, you feel like you have been attacked by a pack of wild boars. So take my word, if mylot ever upsets you, don't publicize it in a discussion. You will get no pity. I KNOW!

I am sorry you had such an experience. I have never had a problem with Mylot. They have always treated me fairly and with respect. And if I did I would not feel a need for pity for I am not that sort of person that I am. If someone or something upsets me I will let it be known but not for pity.

This defiant reality, is what makes the world go round! People just have to test and muddy the waters! Put up a "Wet Paint sign--Do Not Touch," then stand back and watch everyone come up, read the sign...then touch to see if it is true! More than likely, a lot of them read the rules/regs., etc...but don't think they apply to them! There's always some-one to bend the rules, then complain! Cheers!

Thanks, dear lady! Forgot to mention, am back to haunt all my dear friends here on the Lot....Summer is winding down, and so is my work load...Thank goodness! The only good thing about being so busy, for so long, I am now SO tired, I don't have the energy to spend the money that I earned...LOL! And it HAS to be spent on things like a new deck, and new floors--but that is all work too, so I think I will take a little hiatus (lazy time)!ZZZZZZ!!!!!

Well said and I do agree that could very well be the case. Shabby as it is. Doomwitties.

I have learned over time here on mylot to just go with the flow, things here have changed over time, and it can be a job to keep up with it sometimes, as we all have other things to do. All sites change things, and we don't always know about it. We just gotta take it with a grain of salt, and shake it off.

I think if we all use some common sense even some changes can be withstood. Having Ask Alice is a good format for those who are not sure.

Exactly! Live and learn! If more Mylotters were like you we wouldn't have such a problem. Common sense goes a long, long way!!

To add to your comments: Mylot is an excellent search engine. If you want to search for anything, just enter it in the search box - not in the discussions! We cannot discuss those things that you are too lazy to search for. You can even earn a little occasionally from the mylot search engine.

So true. I just recently got a notification pop up that i had got several cents for using the search engine. Every little bit adds up. It is a pretty good search engine too.

i think not all discussions about mylot problems had been deleted. i still can see discussions about glitches which is a mylot problem but do not exist all the time. technical problems, right?

Yes, I think the personal problems are the ones that are deleted.

Sometimes I will even go back and reread the guidelines to make sure that I am following the rules. I would never intentionally violate the guidelines, but just to make sure, I will reread them. It doesn't hurt to read something more than once. Who knows? Something in the guidelines may have changed since the last time you read the guidelines. It's just better to be on top of the game here at MyLot.

I will occasionally go back and re-read the guidelines. I think it is important to keep them fresh in your mind. Some just don't seem to have the common sense to do so.

There are a lot of people that jump in without reading the guidelines. They could really save theirselves a lot of time and heartache if they took a few extra seconds and read through them.

That really isn't a myLot thing, but a people on the Internet in general thing. But yes it is rather something that is going to be a huge problem right here on myLot to say the very least. I don't think its people not knowing how to read, its just that they choose not to. Perhaps that they are too good to read the guidelines. In fact, I'm pretty much sure that is the reason. Oddly enough, it is the actual myLot section that seems to get the highest concentration of topics that are to be rather deleted. There are just many times where people just won't even buckle down and read the guidelines, so when they get deleted, they are going to get rather offended. I try and re-read the guidelines every couple of months, because I think the best of us need a refresher course.

I was being fascious with the 'can't they read' thing. Hoping to bring attention to a problem i see all the time on Mylot. And if people could just word things differently I think they would be surprised how well their discussions are received. It just takes using some common sense.

I agree people should follow the rules. Usually the rules just end up making everything run better anyway. I am talking about rules in general. And when you are involved with something that is giving you something as in the case here then why not follow the rules? Having said that there are some times where people might not get it. Myself for example being new might make mistakes and if and when I do, appreciate someone pointing a finger in the right direction but not at me. Then I will say thank you and correct the problem. Thanks, and anyone reading this have a nice day, ok.

Yes, rules are made for a reason. If there are questions or mistakes you can always write to AskAlice(Alex) and he will be happy to help.
