Do packaging tape guns (dispensers) hate everyone or just me?

Tape gun jammed with packing material - This is my packaging tape dispenser, jammed as usual, with someting it decided to stick to.

If you are in any business that has to ship merchandise, you have probably used a tape gun. I have to use one, but I think they hate me. If I set one down where I'm packing, it will always find something to stick to that it shouldn't. In this picture it found some packing "popcorn" to jam itself with. Sometimes it will find a piece of paper that I had trimmed from a label. Sometimes before I can even see it, it has taped one of my hairs under itself when I'm taping up a package or sticking the label on and I can't remove the hair from under the tape without wrecking the box or the label. The worst thing it does is slip and stick to the mailing label with the postage on it before I can get the tape where it should be. Am I the only one these tape guns hate? What do you think of tape guns?

I think that they are evil and demon possessed. I actually seldom use one. It sounds almost as if the one you are talking about is automatic. I sure hope not, I would have nightmares that it was coming to tape me down in my sleep. You would think that there would be something better.

I do not know if they make automatic ones or not. I think I was dreaming of those paper towel dispensers that tend to ambush you by spitting out towels when you walk past. If they ever cross breed that with a tape dispenser we will all be in trouble. I posted before I looked in the picture. Your tape dispenser looks like a nice industrial strength model.

When you hear of cases of packaging rage it's normally someone trying to get into a package. But this is the other side of the same coin :-)
